Itinerary
The tour begins with the pick-up by minivan or minibus from the meeting-point at the scheduled time.
You will first reach the Vesuvius. Once at 1,000 meters, you will begin the ascent walking tour up to the crater. At the top, you will have the opportunity to know more about the Vesuvius, thanks to the alpine guide service, which will provide you important information about its eruptions. If the Vesuvius is closed due to bad weather conditions or landslides, it will be replaced with free time in the Herculaneum Ruins
You will pass through the panoramic street which links the Mount Vesuvius to the restaurant where you will stop for lunch.
You will have lunch in a pizzeria on the slopes of the Vesuvius: you can choose between the most typical Neapolitan pizzas: Margherita or Marinara.
You will head to Pompeii, where an authorized guide will wait for you, for a visit of about 2 hours. At the end of the visit, you will have a break for lunch.
You will visit the Pompeii Forum, a Roman-era plaza. This site functioned as the central square of the city, serving as the hub for political, economic, and religious activities, including events, trade negotiations, and discussions.
Included in the Pompeii Guided Tour is a visit to the Lupanare, a structure dedicated to the practice of the prostitution.
You will visit the thermopolis, which was a place of refreshment in use in ancient Rome
You will have the chance to explore the Stabian Baths, where Romans not only bathed but also engaged in discussions about politics, legal matters, battles, women, gladiators and theater.
After the visit, you will be accompanied to the starting point.

The tour was excellent to visit both places with ample time for a casual tour. If you want to explore every building in Pompeii, pick a full day tour of that. The schedule is well planned. On our tour we had Lorenzo as the driver who was excellent , always driving for guest comfort! Alessia was our guide for the day and she is FANTASTIC!!! She is upbeat, lively, has great English language skills, even with idioms ;). Alessia was very organized and kept the group together. She is simply the perfect guide!! At Pompeii. we had local guide Lilly (Poppins - umbrella and all 😀). She was also extremely knowledgeable, kind, exuberant, and a great English speaker also. We had a wonderful experience thanks to Alessia and Lilly!
Fantastic tour! Our guide Martina and driver Pasquale were excellent, very organised and informative. Our local guide at Pompeii Enrico was fun, engaging and had a wealth of knowledge. Very interesting day. Tip for future for tours… Pickup is outside Starhotels Terminus, arrive about ten minutes early and listen out for your name as you are split into groups.
Do not book tours with HP Travel. Their service is appalling. This tour was advertised to go to Vesuvius first followed by Pompeii, which we wanted specifically. However once we had borded the bus, the guide informed us we would be going to Pompeii first with no prior notice. There was no guide at Vesuvius despite the tour description specifying an "alpine guide". This was also advertised as a small group tour with a maximum of 27 guests. Out group has over 40 people. The tour operator refused to take responsibility for any of their falsified claims.
The guide Teresa was great for Pompeii very knowledgeable and provided a lot of context given the 2 hours we had we felt we got a great overview and for the walk up vesuvius It was beautiful. It is hard if you can bring walking sticka I would recommend we didn't and keep in mind it is very steep you need shoes with a good grip.
Our experience with the tour guide Allesia and driver John Lucca was really good.We recommend.
We had a wonderful trip with Magdalene and Pasquale. Pasquale sang for us on the bus and Maggie was so helpful and fun. We had a great time
