The Tours starts at 8:30 am at the entrance of the Parcheggio Comunale Achille Lauro, Via Correale, 80067 Sorrento NA, where a Tour leader will greet you. You will be picked up there and you will reach the Mount Vesuvius.
Embarking on a picturesque climb to an altitude of 1000 meters, you'll encounter the magnificent Vesuvius crater, soaking in the sweeping vistas of the Gulf of Naples. As you reach the crater, a knowledgeable local guide will delve into the volcano's intriguing past.
You will pass through the panoramic street which links the Mount Vesuvius to the restaurant where you will stop for lunch.
You will have lunch in a pizzeria on the slopes of the Vesuvius: you can choose between the most typical Neapolitan pizzas: Margherita or Marinara.
Immerse yourself in ancient history while meandering through the archaeological site, retracing the steps of the city buried by Vesuvius' eruption in 79 AD. Your guide will vividly unfold the city's narrative, spotlighting its baths, bakeries, theaters, frescoes, and mosaics for a captivating experience.
You will visit the Pompeii Forum, a Roman-era plaza. This site functioned as the central square of the city, serving as the hub for political, economic, and religious activities, including events, trade negotiations, and discussions.
You will visit the Thermopolis, which was a place of refreshment in use in ancient Rome, where hot drinks and sometimes ready-to-eat food could be purchased and consumed.
Included in the Pompeii Guided Tour is a visit to the Lupanare, a structure dedicated to the practice of the prostitution.
You will have the chance to explore the Stabian Baths, where Romans not only bathed but also engaged in discussions about politics, legal matters, battles, women, gladiators and theater. Above all, it was the civic gathering place where daily events were commented on and discussed.
At the end of the Tour, you will come back to Sorrento at the initial meeting point. The transportation in order to reach the meeting point lasts one hour, but it always depends on the traffic conditions.

Niccolo (HP travel) was a great bus guide. Pompeii was so interesting and great to see, pizza lunch was tasty and the view from Mount Vesuvius was spectacular. ( it’s a tough climb up) A long day but worth it.
Excellent guided trip, highly recommend. Timely pick.up. Our guide Ira was informative and very knowledgeable. Visited key sights. Whole experience totally fascinating. Following Pompeii we visited Vesuvius stopping part way for great pizza and some lemoncello tasting. Vesuvius was a challenging, doable hike up the last 1km ish (300m elevation) on a track to reach the top. We highly recommend this excursion.
A trip to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius was well organised and we had a lovely tour guide called Ciara. Driver was John Luca…he was a very careful driver.Ciara was very friendly. This trip was on a large coach with 28 people on board. If you like where you are sitting put something in it to get it when getting off coach as it causes coach wars 🤣 we stopped at a place where a local sells his own lemon products from limoncello to chocolate. Then Mount Vesuvius. It is quite steep so need a decent amount of fitness. Guide said 20 mins uphill but some took longer as having breath breaks. Beautiful views over Naples. Wear old shoes as very dusty and easy to slip in gravel. Stopped off for pizza and a drink (1 alcoholic drink or non alcoholic drink included in price) then to Pompeii where a local guide gave us headsets and walked us around the ruins for just under 2 hours. Toilets available. She was very knowledgeable. Wear hat and sunscreen as exposed and no shade. Water bottle given on coach. Not cold though. But appreciated. Left at 8am and returned at 5. Ciara was very nice to let a couple of people out at an earlier village where they were staying as on the way back. I would recommend this trip
Pompeii was so incredibly interesting, mt. Vesuvius was awesome but the hike was brutal for the 55+ in the group. Enjoyed both our tour guides!!
It was a five for sure the bus driver was great and our tour guide was wonderful.
It was lovely, just lovely. Ira our guide was such a super, knowledgeable and helpful chap and the driver Vincenzo was excellent. We had a wonderful day and learned so much. Thank u boys Penny Wesson
This was a fantastic adventure! There are two notes that I’d like to share for future readers. 1. Pick up in the morning was a little confusing. We booked through the Viator App and didn’t know the actual name of the tour company. There were multiple tours meeting and leaving from the same place. Knowing you’re looking for HP tours or guides will be helpful. 2. We walked over 5 miles today! I wore my trail running shoes and my husband and daughter wore their hiking boots. There were all good choices for us. The sandals would have been way cuter, but I’m glad I left them behind!
This was a wonderful tour of the ruins of Pompeii. The tour guide was excellent, she was very knowledgeable and she made the tour enjoyable. My daughter was able to complete the tour, however I was not, because of the heat. I enjoyed as much as I could and then got a cool drink and rested under the shade. I would highly recommend this tour!
Although climbing Vesuvius is a bit tough, it has been a fantastic experience. Maddy and Nello are top-notch, charming, and very attentive. Additionally, Maddy gave us a surprise after lunch at her family's store. The visit to Pompeii with Fabiano as a guide was also a fantasy.
Really good trip. Enjoyed all areas that we visited and the pizza was delicious. Driver and guide were great.
