The slightly acidic water from the Priest Spring relieves tired muscles, aches and pains. The Rachel Spring is a source of alkaline water, which features the antiseptic action of sodium silicate nourishing the skin. a must to visit, relaxing experience

I visited this attraction on midday of Wednesday in rotorao .it's not crowded and very relaxed with the hot thermal swimming pool sized bath where I can swim . the pool with view of lake is very extraordinary experience . please take care of your jewel or valuable necklace which might change in colors after soaking in the thermal water .it finished with drinks or sweets(ice cream) of my choice at the café.

Operator response

Thank you for visiting us and for your lovely review. It really is something quite special to sit alongside the geothermal lake and enjoy our large alkaline geothermal pool for light exercising. We hope you felt rested and rejuvenated.

Expensive - not value for money

$59.95 per Adult entry fee? You must be kidding. Main pool closed - all under cover with sign up - sorry closed due to maintenance. Pools and facilities managed by Rotorua City Council - absolute rip off

Operator response

Hello Tony, We're sorry to hear that your visit did not meet your expectations. To clarify, Polynesian Spa is a privately owned business and is not managed by Rotorua City Council. During your visit, our large historic pool was temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance. This pool is the original women's bathing pool and dates back to the early 1900s. Despite this closure, guests still had access to the other Pavilion Pools, including both acidic Priest Spring pools and alkaline Rachel Spring pools, as well as our foot reflexology walk. Pavilion Pool entry also includes unlimited bathing time, allowing guests to enjoy the facilities at their own pace. We understand that value is subjective, but we believe our pricing reflects the unique geothermal bathing experience, heritage, facilities, and unlimited access provided. We appreciate your feedback and hope you may consider visiting again in the future. Kind regards, Polynesian Spa

A must in Rotorua

Lovely relaxing experience next to the lake. Be warned the water is very hot and I had to take lots of breaks.

Operator response

Thanks Stephanie. The pools range in temperature from 38 to 41 degrees in this bathing area. There are cold showers outside to cool down and taking breaks is definitely a must, as is drinking water to stay hydrated.

Great place to go.

I will never book with yous again. I was quoted $66.00 for 2 adult's, checked my account and $114. was taken. I changed the dollars to NZ Dollars, when I checked my account $116 US was taken.

Operator response

Thanks for raising this, we understand how frustrating that would feel. It sounds like the booking may have been made through a third-party platform where pricing can appear in different currencies or include additional fees. We don’t have control over how those platforms display or process payments, but we’d recommend contacting the provider you booked through so they can clarify the charges.

No hair dryer

No hair dryer in Men's bathroom. Asked staff and they were not helpful with it, dismissed my request like I'm asking for something out of ordinary, men have hair too!

Operator response

Thanks for raising this. Hairdryers aren’t currently available in the men’s changing area, and we understand that’s not ideal. It’s not something we’re often asked about, but your feedback highlights that it matters and we’ll take that on board. We also apologise for how this was handled on the day, it should have been communicated more helpfully.

Beautiful lakeside setting

Beautiful lakeside setting, great selection of pools... they're all pretty warm though so make sure to drink plenty of the water from the many free stations throughout. We went on a fairly clear night, it was so relaxing lying there looking up at the stars.

Operator response

Thanks for sharing this, an evening soak under the stars with the lake right there is a pretty special way to unwind. Good tip on staying hydrated as well, especially with the warmer pools.
