Continue through scenic coffee fields to the Doka Coffee Estate, where you’ll learn about Costa Rica’s famous coffee-making process—from bean to cup—and enjoy a delicious lunch on the plantation. Next, visit the charming town of Grecia, known for its beautiful parks and unique all-metal church, one of the most unusual architectural landmarks in Central America. End your journey in Sarchí, Costa Rica’s artisan capital, where master craftsmen hand-paint traditional oxcarts and produce beautiful wooden souvenirs using techniques passed down through generations. A perfect blend of volcano views, cultural heritage, and authentic Costa Rican traditions.

Itinerary
To embark on this tour we will take the Pan-American Highway towards the city of Alajuela. En route we will see the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria and the popular Mango Park. Then we will continue to The Poas Volcano National Park, where we will have 20 minutes to enjoy the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, **as per National Volcanic Security Bureau **
Next, after visiting the volcano, we will have time to enjoy a scrumptious lunch at Doka Coffee Plantation. Then we will continue our trip through the fern, flower and strawberry farms taking in the scenic vistas along the way. As we descend from the Poas Volcano we will stop to learn more about our golden bean, which is a term used to describe the unique and savory coffee of Costa Rica. Then we will be treated to a coffee tour in an actual coffee plantation to learn the ancient techniques used by the experts to produce some of the best coffee in Costa Rica and around the world. The careful process involved in the cultivation, harvesting & roasting of the Golden Bean , finally we will savor the delectable product.
The third stop is the town of Grecia, considered one of the cleanest towns in Latin America.
The last stop along the way is the town of Sarchi, known as the cradle of Costa Rican artisans

We had a nice day with Max who was friendly and very knowledgeable. Sadly Poas was totally shocked in on our day but that's life in the mountains sometimes.

All 3 tours we took were very good. But we think this was the best. Because the tour guide/driver, was Roger. Some tour guides just make it much better. This was a lot of territory to cover, and it did not disappoint. Got up to Poaz early, as we did, and you have a chance to see the volcano without the clouds/mist. Gorgeous. Doka coffee plantation was very interesting, came away with a much better knowledge of the production process, and appreciated the education. Another great lunch before we headed to Grecia, Sarchi. Seeing those 2 towns was really special, the Metal Red Church in Grecia, and the Ox Cart Factory in Sarchi. Wouldn't mind going back and spending time in those places. Just some final thoughts about the tours and company: Tour pickups were always on time! But it can still be a long day. Traffic in and around SJO has a lot to do with length of day. Shoot for a weekday, our last tour had only 4 people. Take a water bottle. Rain coat may be needed. Comfy shoes.

Volcano crater can be obscured by fog but our guide recommended waiting and after waiting a fee minutes the fog cleared and the crater was visible. Worth the wait.
