It is not an excursion for people with moderate ability. It is a 4/5 hike for very fit people without health problems. I was told it would suit us (10 months post knee replacement) and another a year after coma rehabilitation. It is not 8km as our guide informed us. It was over 9 miles.
All ok until arrival. Guide went to get ticketand told us to get off and meet outside marrket. At no time sid ahe tell to take all our stuff. So the bus left with all our food, drink and medicine. No apology waa forj6hcoming and we had a bad day with a kot of pain
The beauty of the place is indescribable.... The water gushing down from the higher lakes to the lower lakes are fantastic. Evety turm you take you have a magnificent 'wow' moment. Walked >12 kms and would do it again. Get a snack for your walk, it could get cold and make sure you are using comfortable walking shoes. Enjoy the day.
The Plitvice Lakes national park is stunning and we had a great day. The price included the entrance ticket so is very good value compared to other tour offers. However, from the description given at the time of booking, we were expecting a guided tour, with some information about the geology, ecology and history of the park and area. On the coach ride some information was given regarding the history or this area, which was interesting. However, once we reached the park, no more information was given (in English), our guide did lots of chatting in German which was probably quite interesting... but none of this was repeated for the English speaking guests. This was quite disappointing as it was one of the main reasons for booking this particular tour. Overall the tour was good and our guide was friendly, the tour is in three different languages (French, German and English) with English being the minority - but the lakes are beautiful, so it was well worth the visit!
Thank you dear Corrina
