Fun low-key night of cooking. Sarala has great recipes and suggestions for veggie/ vegan replacements in french recipes. The meal we made tasted great! Highly recommend.

This was a wonderful experience! She took us to her local shops and then had a delicious vegan meal planned. We all had a night full of French cooking, laughter and sharing. It felt like a dinner party in her lovely French home.

Absolutely fantastic experience. First, since it was a cooking class, the food was absolutely delicious. Sarlat was very capable of engaging with people with widely different expertise in cooking. And her life experiences made for very interesting conversation. We absolutely enjoyed the experience and would strongly recommend. Vegan French sounds a bit strange but it was delicious without compromise (speaking as a meat eater).

During our stay in Bordeaux my wife and I had a unique and wonderful culinary experience with Sarala. The special day started with Sarala at the Capucins Market, which opened in 1749. We shared coffee and croissants and wandered around the spectacular market buying things needed for lunch. After the market Sarala guided us through gorgeous medieval streets, stopping at a few special food & wine shops en route to her home. Once at her home she made us completely welcome and we all joined in creating a special vegan lunch. Sarala was a wonderful hostess. We will never forget the experience for which we are ever so grateful.

Sarala applies her cookbook writing expertise to translate French sensibilities and dishes into plant-based recipes. Doing this in a home-based setting left me feeling that I could replicate it with friend at home. The explanations were clear and simple, the recipes doable. The atmosphere was that of making dinner with a friend. I was happy to find out Sarala also offers non-vegan and vegetarian classes and is considering adding wine pairings. I am looking forward to taking another class here the next time I am in Bordeaux!

This cooking class was so lovely! My friend and I were in Bordeaux for the weekend and the class with Sarala felt like we were visiting our friend. Her vegan dishes are truly creative. No artificial food or fake cheese kind of things which I am not a fan of so it was wonderful to see how she had interesting alternatives based on whole foods, such as her tahini cheese. Sarala was a fabulous host/chef. My wife and I had the evening with just us and Sarala and it felt like having dinner with a friend. She took classic Bordelaise dishes and made them vegan. Beet tartare instead of beef tartare was brilliant. She used coconut cream instead of cream for the soup which was delicious. We will definitely book this again next time we are in Bordeaux.

I thoroughly enjoyed my evening with Sarala. I am not vegan, but thought I would learn some recipes for my daughter. Sarala has a gorgeous, comfortable apartment, is very knowledgeable and creative in vegan cooking, and is a warm, genuine person. I highly recommend this class. I had a lovely time.
