Amazing experience/ kids said it was their favorite activity of the whole trip! The class was so much fun! We learned how to make cannolis and pizza from scratch. Highly highly recommend. Restaurant is down the hill from Taormina on the coast so a great view too.
We, as an extended family of 6, ages 11-76, had the most amazing time. Mom and son were an amazing team teaching us the steps for canoli and pizza making. Mama took such good care with my kids, helping them first at every step. We had a lot of laughs and very full stomachs by the end! Highly recommend!
Our family had a great time at this pizza and cannoli making class. It was fun and casual yet very professionally organized. Great family run restaurant. It seems a little pricey when you break it down by person for what you get but it’s more about the experience. We were expecting a glass of wine or two each but they were very generous with it bringing out 4 carafes for our table of 8. Our adult children really enjoyed it. It was a great family night out. Thank you Chef Mimmo and Mama !
This was so much fun! Our entire group loved it. Antonio was a great chef, showing us all how to make the canoli and pizza. Chef Mimmo was engaged and explained all of the steps well. One of our group mentioned this was the highlight of their trip! We would highly recommend this activity!!
They guys know how to create an experience! Like the title says there are tons of potential experiences in this area and I've done a lot of them. They're fine, but this place has been open since '81 and they have been perfecting their craft ever since. You can get the recipes get the location, but what you can't get is knowing your evening is taken care of and your family and friends will have a good time. Now that is a tall order. As a dad and a host it's nice to not have to play entertainer for one night. It helps me get recharged to bring my best self for the rest of the trip. Ahoy filled that order. Great job guys!
The owners of the restaurant made us feel very welcome! The pizza we made was delicious and the owner taught us how to make a proper pizza. They taught us how to make the cannoli shells and we fried and filled them ourselves.. It was a great experience and we really enjoyed it!
We had an absolutely fantastic cooking session at the Ahoy Bistro, by the sea. This family run restaurant had a lovely family feel to it - everybody was very welcoming, accommodating (they started slightly earlier at our request as we wanted to finish sooner rather than face hangry children!) , and affectionate especially towards our six and three year olds - helping them through the entire cooking session. A big thank you to Chef Vittorio and Chef mama, along with Chef Mammoud who helped us make a whole lot of Cannolis, pizzas, and out of kindness also gave our son a bit of pasta dough to make pasta that they cooked for us to take alongside our leftover cannolis and pizzas (plenty for us for another meal!). In addition, we got some amazing bruschetta, limoncello, also wine, and a big bag full of sweet and crisp Chiacchiere to accompany the rest of the big portions of food. Lots of laughs, smiles and warmth. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience! Educational and pedagogically explained, Good atmosphere and cozy surroundings. We are a family of 5, including 3 older kids - all got something out of it from start to finish!
A nice afternoon with Mimmo! Enthusiastic explanation, attention to large and small and delicious food in a relaxed setting. Highly recommended!
