If you are looking to step off the beaten path and experience a quieter, more authentic side of Cambodia, the Silk Island tour with Tim is exactly what you need. The adventure begins even before you set foot on the island — the crossing to and from Silk Island on a barge is an experience in itself. Watching the Mekong river life unfold around you as you make your way across is delightful and sets the perfect tone for what lies ahead. Tim proved to be a wonderful guide — warm, engaging, and clearly passionate about showcasing the island's unique heritage. The highlight of the tour was witnessing the art of silk weaving firsthand with the original silk-making family — a tradition passed down through generations. Watching the intricate craft up close, understanding the painstaking effort behind every thread, was truly humbling. Equally fascinating was seeing the making of tofu skin — a process most of us have never had the chance to observe, and one that added a lovely culinary dimension to the tour. And then came the unexpected bonus — a stroll through a working cow farm where we got to see the magnificent Cambodian cows up close. This was not on the itinerary, but it turned out to be one of those spontaneous moments that you remember most fondly from any trip. Throughout the journey, our tuk tuk driver was an absolute darling — cheerful, attentive, and reassuringly careful on the road, making the ride as enjoyable as the destinations themselves. This tour is a wonderful blend of culture, craft, nature, and authentic Cambodian rural life. A big thank you to Tim and the team for a truly memorable outing. Highly recommended!
Thank you for your wonderful and detailed review! We're so glad you enjoyed the Silk Island experience with Tim, from the ferry crossing to the silk weaving, tofu skin workshop, and even the unexpected farm visit. It’s great to hear the tuk tuk journey and local insights made the day so memorable. We truly appreciate your recommendation!
We had a great day cycling around the city. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing the city’s history and hidden gems. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting an authentic and fun way to see Phnom Penh—ask for Sam, he truly made the day special!
We had a really good day cycling around. Sam is an excellent tour guide. Would highly recommend this trip. Very good value for money
We booked this tour after experiencing a fantastic evening on a night street food tour with Hong at Siem Reaper. The quality of the experience certainly carried through to this tour! We were picked up on time and with a smile and big greeting from Hong and Mr Driver and taken first to a local market which was a real eye opener. We had the opportunity to travel through a more rural area to visit a mushroom farm and got to see up close how they are grown and learn a little about farming life. We were then graciously welcomed to a village home, with the opportunity to cook in a transitional outdoor kitchen. This part of the tour has been our best chance to see how locals live in Cambodia to date. The food was amazing and our guides were so patient and friendly. We learnt a lot on this tour and we’re so grateful for the experience. Highly recommend!!!
Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We are happy to read how much you loved the experience with our guide Ms. Hong! We'll make sure to pass this lovely comment to her. Thanks again for traveling with us during your holiday in Siem Reap and for this fantastic recommendation. We hope to see you and your family again in another experience with Siem Reaper Travel Have a nice day!
I did two bike tours with Siem Reaper. The last one was this one, with the cooking class. It’s very interesting to go to the local markets to see, smell and taste. On this tour we had approximately one hour with heavy rain, it made the cycling more funny. We arrived the kitchen dirty and wet, but then the sun decided to visit. I made three dishes. My favorite, fish amok, a soup and a dessert with banana. It was a very nice place with beautiful surroundings. The people in the kitchen was very helpful, and this was all over a very good experience. I recommend tours with Siem Reaper. They are locals, and they support the locals. So just make your researvation😄

Our guide Joo and Leak were incredible! They were very friendly, good at English, and took us on a wonderful time. We felt especially good about our tour because at all the local farms and homes we stopped at, our guides gave money directly to them to thank them for letting us visit, so we knew that the cost of the experience was helping local families. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour company and guides Joo and Leak. This was the highlight of our trip in Cambodia.
