This trip was excellent! We had recently arrived in Australia, do a half day trip was a good choice. The visit to Moonlit Sanctuary was a real highlight. My granddaughters got to personally interact with koalas, kangaroos and wallabies. Then the penguin parade topped off the evening. Our guide, Travis, was really amazing. He was well informed and gave us helpful and interesting information. He went above and beyond to make sure we were delivered back safely. The whole experience was delightful and worth every penny
I had a wonderful trip to see the penguins with Travis. He was incredibly kind, extremely knowledgeable, and shared excellent stories and anecdotes about the animals and the history of the area. It was definitely not an ordinary tour, it was exceptionally well organised, thoughtful, and delivered with great care and kindness. I would highly recommend it.
We booked a tour of Philip Island and Great Ocean Road with Fred. What a wonderful two days! Our day trip to Philip Island included a stop at Moonlit Sanctuary. Moonlit is a well run wildlife sanctuary that includes a koala experience, access to wallabies and kangaroos, dingoes and even a Tasmanian devil! After our time there, we left to Philip Island. Fred gave us a lot of information about Philip Island, animals of the area and local culture. The experience at Philip Island was second to none. One of the best wildlife parks experiences I’ve ever had. We were in a group of 10 which allowed us special access to the beach which had less tourists. This is well worth it! The second day we did the Great Ocean Road. It was a beautiful experience. Fred made sure we stopped at unique lookout points. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and then headed to the Twelve Apostles. It truly was remarkable. Well worth the visit! Thank you to Fred for making these two days so memorable.
10/10 for the day and for our amazing guide Travis. He made us feel very well looked after and introduced us to all the different animals at the sanctuary, including the adorable coconut! He gave us great advice on viewing the parade which was the highlight on a day of many. Thanks Travis for making it so special and for going above and beyond the entire day including an extra stop off at the end of a long day to see the incredible Aurora Australis.
Essentially , the thing I wanted to do was see the penguin parade. Ideally I’d have gone on a tour just to see that. For me it was unnecessary to go to the Moonlit Sanctuary( which is a very small and poor example of Australia’s many wildlife sanctuaries and having seen it I’m very grateful that I went to two other ones during my time here). The visit to the beach was only 25 minutes which I thought was a total waste as it’s a lovely beach and I would have liked more time there, I personally didn’t need or want the hour and 15 minutes to eat….and though the Nobbies boardwalk was beautiful and I’m happy I went, I would have far preferred going there earlier snd getting to the penguins earlier!! We only got there at 8:20 or so snd by that time all the front row best seats, were taken! I would have liked to go as soon as they opened…. have a browse through the museum which looked charming and informative ( but I had no time as had to rush to get a seat to watch the penguins!) I thankfully got a somewhat decent seat but four rows back…. I wish I had gone earlier…. brought a packed lunch…. and gotten a front row seat! By 8:45 I was finally able to get a front row seat but I had to leave and race back to the van!! I would have liked to skip the moonlit sanctuary entirely….. and dinner….. started the tour at 1:30….. had a couple of hours at the beach….. walk the Nobbies boardwalk….and then headed to the penguins once it opened!! I also spent 300 dollars on this trip when premium ticket entry is only 85!!! Our guide Alex was very sweet and therefore I gave the tour a 3 instead of a 2!!!
HI, You should look at private tours as an option to do exactly what you want. This tour has operated this way for years and the response is positive in regards to the stops included and the duration. You paid 300 dollars for two people was too much, how does the cost of the premium ticket for two at 170 make that a bad deal? Bizarre!!!
We were picked up at our hotel at 13.20, Tess our tour guide was very prompt on arrival and was lovely. There was only 9 of us so it did feel like we had the personal touch. On our drive Tess introduced everyone and gave us lots of information regarding the trip and Melbourne in general. We first stopped at a Wildlife Sanctuary and Tess walked some of the way with us, giving us information on some of the animals and pointed out the baby kangaroo who was pure white. We then went to a beach for a brief stop before going to Cowes for dinner. We went to see the Little Penguins coming in from the sea with food for their chicks and had great tickets which gave us the perfect view. Tess was absolutely great, really informative and friendly. I’d highly recommend this tour with this company.
Highly recommended- relaxed tour, great info provided. Seamless pick and drop. Spent a decent amount of time per stop.
The Phillip Island and Moonlit Sanctuary was amazing and a must do! We had Travis as our tour guide and he was SO passionate about his job and had so much knowledge and fun facts about the city, the wildlife and everything in between. Travis absolutely made the tour and it would not have been the same experience without him! The whole day was well organised, but still felt like we had time to see extra bits and adventure off the beaten track.
Had a really good day with Sarah, and excellent tour guide. Good stop at the Moonlit sanctuary followed by the impressive penguin parade. Highly recommended
