Full day tour from Khao Lak

We took this full day tour from our hotel so an early start to get the minibus to the boat quay. Once onboard the longtail boat we set off through the mangrove swamps then out into the Andman sea where we got chance to see the many islands and rock formations before being dropoed off at "James Bond" island for a short visit. This was very busy and a bit chaotic. There are some nice photo opportunities if you are patient. Once we re boarded the longtail we headed off for an escorted canoe trip at monkey island, the guides are certainly characters and do hint for tips. Be carefull as one of our group handed over 500 baht and only got 100 baht change before the guide shot off in his canoe. Best to carry small denomination notes if you intend to tip. Our next stop was at the fishing village where we enjoyed a buffet lunch. Drinks are available to buy and there are several gift shops amongst the maze of streets. Our final stop was the temple cave of the reclining Budah where you will also see the resident monkeys. They will very quickly relieve you of anything that resembles food. This is quite a long day when you add transfer and pick up times from various hotels but a nice trip in all.
