Itinerary
Relax aboard a comfortable coach as you travel along the scenic Route 11, which skirts the shores of Lago Argentino. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights into the park’s diverse wildlife and the significance of Perito Moreno as part of the vast Patagonian Ice Fields, one of the world's largest reserves of fresh water.
Your first dramatic view of Perito Moreno comes at the 'Curve of Sighs'—a scenic turn in the road offering sweeping panoramic vistas of the glacier and the surrounding landscape. From here, you’ll begin to appreciate the immensity of the glacier’s 60-meter-high (196-foot) front wall, which plunges into the waters of Lago Argentino.
Continue to the park's iconic glacier walkways, which offer stunning, multi-level viewing platforms. From these strategic spots, you'll be able to take in panoramic views of the glacier from various angles and elevations. Capture incredible photos of the glacier's jagged ice formations, towering cliffs, and the surrounding Patagonian landscape.
For a closer encounter with the glacier, take the optional boat ride from Puerto Bajo Las Sombras. Set sail across the Rico Arm of Lake Argentino, navigating between floating icebergs as you approach the towering ice face. As you get up close, watch for spectacular ice calving—a dramatic natural event when chunks of ice break off and crash into the water below.
After your visit to the glacier, enjoy some free time to relax, explore the area, or have lunch at one of the nearby restaurants offering views of the glacier. The surrounding scenery is equally captivating, with majestic mountains, lakes, and forests providing a stunning backdrop. Return to El Calafate After a day filled with natural wonders, you'll board the coach for the return trip to El Calafate, where your adventure concludes.

Fabulous experience with breathtaking views. The trip was very well planned and the guide was so knowledgable as well as very nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Fabolous time, seeing the glacier awesome. The boat ride to the glacier, all good. The walking trails perfect condition.
Only get the package for transportation, do not add the optional boat tour through Viator. It is twice the cost as the price you would pay locally if you want to add it on later at the day of travel. Viator contracts a local company and the local company allows to add the boat tour for anyone who wants to do it. The on the spot cost is ARS 65,000 which is about $45, way less than the $100 that Viator charges. Apart from that the glaciers itself are amazing and a must visit! We had an amazing time, and got to see them upclose, and also break and fall off
Seem to have dealt with alot of companies on this trip; Tangol, Gigantes Patagones, and the tour operator on the day seemed to be Tiempolibre who supplied the coaches and tour guide. Prompt pickup at my hotel and a bus feeder transfer to a coach outside El Calafate. Was booked to do the optional boat ride at 10AM with balcones after. You can also buy the park ticket at the park entrance 45,000 ars with cash or card. Toilet breaks along the way, and there is a Cafe at the glacier centre. After getting our boat tickets we were then told the boat had departed, and the boat was cancelled until 1PM. So we did the balcones first. No big deal. Stunning glacier and good narration in English. I would recommend this trip.
Great scenery the boat went as close as allowed and we had great weather. Downside, so crowded on the boat and some people are so focused on taking selfies for a very long time not caring there are other people waiting for photo opportunities
The Perito Moreno Glacier is impressive and absolutely worth seeing and we had great weather. So it was a great experience. The 1 - sinful boat trip is also recommended, as you can see the glacier from a different perspective, which is equally impressive. However, you should NEVER book the tour in advance with shipping, because you pay way too much for that here! The ticket for shipping can be purchased locally for 64,000 ARS, what on the trip to. Glacier was still offered. I should have r. 40€ saved!! That's inappropriate. In addition, you should compare prices from other providers, which were also even cheaper.
Tudor was an excellent company to work with. I had personnel changes to make and it was done smoothly. The communication was above expectations. Very quick to respond, thorough. Anna was our guide to the park and her English was excellent. She answered all our questions thoroughly. We had enough time on our own to Tori the glacier boardwalk viewpoints and get a bite. The cafeteria was packed so it was good we brought our own snacks and avoided the cafeteria which was warm anyway. Bathrooms at the park were good. The boat tour was very good. The crew was organized and safely boarded and deboarded us. The captain gave us good views. Melody was good in her explanation and English. Tudor vehicle was modern and comfortable. Group size was under 20 and a good size so we got in and out of stops quickly.
This is a must-do, and you MUST book the optional boat tour. We warned - the weather between El Calafate and the glacier can be very different - prepare for cooler and possibly wet weather. Even if you think you would not be interested in seeing the glacier, once you are there, you will be glad you went.
Great experience and very informative. Its been a dream of mine to see Perito Moreno. I was exhausted at the end.
Natalia is an excellent guide and the driving was good. The entire experience was fabulous, I am very glad that we included the boat tour.
