Itinerary
This daytour will begin on the Montjuïc Mountain, from where you can appreciate the splendid panoramic views of the city. The mountain was a strategy to defend the city against attacks. Now is is home to the famous Miró foundation and the Caixa Forúm. These and other buildings on Montjuïc, perfectly illustrate examples of modern art and contemporary architecture. The Montjuïc also includes examples of town planning and architecture especially designed for the 1929 International Exhibition.
To reach Barcelona's coastline, we will drive through Las Ramblas, the very famous avenue of the city.
You will head to Barcelona’s coast, passing by the Columbus Monument and the Gothic Drassanes. The beach is surrounded by the latest architecture, best represented by the World Trade Centre and the transformed Old Port. Maintaining its authentic charisma, Port Vell is now full of restaurants, nightclubs and fantastic shops.
We will pass by the Columbus Monument, a tall monument to Christopher Columbus at the lower end of La Rambla.
Have a good time, taking a stroll in the Gothic Quarter, known as one of the districts that are part of Ciutat Vella, the old town of the city. In Ciutat Vella, where the history of Barcelona began, you will experience modernity woven with Roman and medieval imprints. There you will learn about the Catalan traditions and Barcelona’s origins, while exploring the enchanting corners, picturesque plazas and the narrow alleys of the Gothic quarter.
Plaça Sant Jaume, one of the main, oldest and most representative squares of Ciutat Vella, is defenitely worth a visit while walking through the Gothic Quarter.
Admire the façade of the gothic cathedral of Barcelona, seat of the archbishopric of the city.
We will drive through the Eixample district, designed by Ildefons Cerdà after 1895 , to expand the city. (The word “Eixample” actually means “expansion” in Catalan). Passing by the streets of this elegant neighborhood, you will remark that Cerdà’s idea of urban planning was revolutionary and utopian.
You will pass through Passeig de Gràcia, with its typical Catalan architecture. The avenue is home to the most remarkable façades of modernist buildings, including Gaudi’s La Pedrera, Casa Batlló and Domènech's Casa Lleó - Morera or Casa Ametller.
Get ready to be amazed by the colorful façade of Casa Battló, one of Gaudi's impressive houses.
Take in the unique, wave-like façade of Casa Milà, or La Pedrera, a true Gaudí masterpiece that stands out with its bold design.
We will pass by Casa Lleó - Morera or Casa Ametller, built by the modernist architect Lluís Domènech.
Before to head to our last destination of the day, you will have the chance to get inspired by the breathtaking Sagrada Familia. Gaudi's masterpiece is considered as the most emblematic landmark of Barcelona. There are no words to describe the feeling one gets when entering this magnificent temple of Modernism. The organic shapes found throughout its structure, the light filtering through its stained glass windows and the symbolic nature of the building’s sculpted façade will probably be the highlight of this tour.
We will make a stop at Parc Guell, based above the charming, bohemian neighbourhood of Gràcia. The architecture in the park was inspired by organic forms, found in nature. You will discover slender alleys with undulating forms, like rivers of molten lava, which are covered by columns shaped like trees, stalactites and other geometric shapes.

A perfectThis is a perfect private family trip in Barcelona! Ramon is exceptionally knowledgeable about the city’s history and culture, and his kindness made the experience even more enjoyable. As a local Catalan who has lived in the region for generations, he shared valuable insider insights, giving us a deeper understanding of Barcelona’s rich traditions, architecture, and hidden gems. The day included a full-door-to-door private van service, transporting us comfortably to all the major attractions such as the Sagrada Família, Park Güell, and the Gothic Quarter. All tickets for these sites were pre-arranged, ensuring a smooth, stress-free visit with no waiting or last-minute arrangements. This level of service is especially helpful when traveling with young children, particularly under the intense heat of summer—the van’s air conditioning and Ramon’s careful planning made the day enjoyable and manageable. We honestly don’t know what we would have done without him—his local expertise and thoughtful care made this family outing unforgettable.
Fabulous!!!!! Stephen was so knowledgeable about Barcelona. We learned so much about your beautiful city.
Excellent tour! Daniela is very professional and knowledgeable tour guide. She was patient and accommodating, really good sightseeings, very interesting and different to our hometown. The restaurant suggestion had good menu options, service was really fast and food was good. The Van was really comfortable. Highly recommend Daniela and the tour she provided around Barcelona full of highlights. Gracias
Our Barcelona in a day tour was perfect from beginning to end. Our guide Stephanie was great at communicating in advance our pick up and explained so many fascinating details about the city. She even booked a delicious place for us to have lunch, explained the history of Barcelona and allowed time for water stops since it was so hot. Juan Carlos, our driver, was also excellent and brought us up close to all of the spots we were visiting. This adventure was a 10 out of 10!
We had a wonderful experience with Montse. She wasn’t just knowledgeable, she had extreme enthusiasm and pride for the area which was evident throughout our tour. She really wanted to squeeze in as much as was humanly possible into our day. It was truly unforgettable.
We had such a fun time as a group of 8 with Mario!! The AC vehicle and private guide was wonderful for our 2 families with kids from 7-11. We appreciated Mario’s vast knowledge and incredibly friendly and welcoming attitude. We saw all the biggest highlights of the city and could have never done all that in one day on our own. Would definitely recommend and book again.
Our family had an absolutely incredible experience on this 8-hour private tour, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Barcelona! We traveled with another family who are close friends of ours, so there were eight of us total (including four kids), and everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. The itinerary struck a great balance between seeing Barcelona’s iconic landmarks and enjoying the city at a relaxed pace. Visiting Park Güell and the Sagrada Família with a knowledgeable guide made all the difference; we learned so much that we never would have picked up on our own. The biggest reason this tour was so exceptional was our guide, Mario. He was simply outstanding. Mario was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and engaging. He had a wonderful way of bringing the history, architecture, and culture of Barcelona to life while keeping both the adults and kids interested. He answered every question with enthusiasm, adapted the day to our group’s pace, and made us feel like we were exploring the city with a good friend rather than just following a tour. Eight hours can sound like a long day, but it flew by because Mario kept everything interesting, fun, and well-paced. His recommendations and local insights were invaluable, and his passion for Barcelona was contagious. If you’re considering a private tour of Barcelona, don’t hesitate; this is absolutely worth it. And if you’re lucky enough to get Mario as your guide, you’re in for an unforgettable day. Thank you for helping make our family vacation so special!
Amazing day in Barcelona! Full day tour with Steven as our tour guide and Roberto as our driver. They were both fantastic! Steven was incredibly knowledgeable and had a notebook full of maps and photos to help in sharing the rich history of Barcelona. Each stop along the tour was fascinating. Visiting Basilica de la Sagrada Família was an experience of a lifetime that I will never forget. I would book this tour again in a heartbeat. Pick up and drop off were right from our hotel making this tour very easy to coordinate. Have done numerous tours through Viator and I think that this is the best tour that I have ever taken. Thank you Steven and Roberto for a wonderful day.
