Our adventure begins with a visit to the tranquil St. Neofytos Monastery, nestled in a peaceful valley. Founded in the 12th century by the Cypriot hermit and writer Saint Neofytos, this sacred site is renowned for its beautifully preserved frescoes and serene atmosphere.
Next, we’ll stop at a local workshop where you’ll learn about the creation of loukoumi, Cyprus’s beloved sweet treat. Watch the artisans at work, discover the traditional methods used, and enjoy a taste of these delightful confections.
We’ll then visit the stunning Agia Paraskevi Church, a 9th-century architectural marvel with its unique five-domed design. This ancient church, said to be built on the site of Aphrodite’s ancient temple, offers a glimpse into the island’s spiritual heritage and breathtaking artistry.
Our journey concludes in the charming Old Town of Paphos, where tradition meets modern flair. We had signed up for a walking tour but for some reason ended up with Maria on a tour of churches and a monastery in Paphos.which was extremely interesting. The final hour literally shoping in old Panos was not necessary. Maria might have made better use of the microphone. We were embarrassed that we could not provide a tip as Maria did not step out of the coach as individuals left.

Maria is young and still learning; she can be a little shy about collecting tips, but she always aims to ensure all guests feel comfortable and respected. She certainly did not intend to embarrass anyone. We went on a half-day tour of Paphos with our 15 year old son and it was absolutely fantastic. Maria, our guide, was outstanding - knowledgeable, warm and incredibly attentive to our needs. She was especially kind and patient with our son, which made the experience even more meaningful for our family. We wanted a bespoke tour and Maria worked with us to personalise the day. Highlights included a visit to a loukoumi workshop, where we not only learned about this Cypriot sweet but also bought some to take home. Picked up by mini bus air conditioning was on as it was a very hot day . First we went to the monastery very peaceful lovely gardens. Then we went to a church also very peaceful. Went to see how Cyprus delight was made and bought some lol 😆 was dropped off in the old town where we had time to have a meal and do some shopping. Highly recommend this half day trip
