Spend more but follow the guide

We did the tour without a guide but the bus guide did not give the most important information that was where we are on the map. To there the q to return to a meeting point without knowing where it was on the map. That was tense. Everything else was very good.

Traslado Madrid-Toledo

I hired only the transfer to Toledo Civitatis company who outsourced with Trandporte Julia. because the excursion was 55€ c/u while the transfer only 15 and we were 3 pax. The beginning of it without problem with an experienced guide, very old, cultured and respectful but with Very bad ways to those who will only hire the transfer and not the full tour. Arrived in Toledo we descended all passengers staying as a meeting point in the same place five hours later. My surprise was that at the time and place indicated neither the microphone nor the guide were present. That is where my concern began but then the microphone became present with all the passengers of the tour and the guide. They obviously changed YOUR meeting point without notifying us in any way and if they do The way they work, they should notify tourists. Cheers.

Operator response

iVenture Card

We booked this tour as one of the activities you could choose after purchasing the i Venture Madrid card. For an extra charge of 20€p.P we booked the half day tour with guide. Organization was good. Circumference mediocre. Driving around by bus, short stops to take pictures and shopping at predetermined gift shops. Routes that had to be run resulted in delays in the entire process, as the rather elderly audience struggled somewhat with steps and gradients. The guide was extremely difficult to understand for someone who has upscale English skills but is not a native speaker due to the strong accent and high speech speed. I would recommend young people to choose the free tour.

Operator response

Dear Jenser H, Thank you for taking the time to post a review on our half day Toledo guided tour. I am happy to read you did enjoy the organisation and the stops held during the same. We are proud to state our tours are open to people of all ages and for this reason our guides try to adapt their explanations and work to groups of mixed ages. I regret you found our guide had an accent and could not follow the explanation as easily as you might have liked but please let me state all our professionals follow strict language tests and check ups. Best regards, Edgar W

Both OK tours...3 stars is generous.

The first part of the tour which is Madrid is a joke. They take you to a few streets for like 2 hours and that's it. Total waste of time. Don't take the Madrid tour. The second part Toledo is better. It is a beautiful city and the tour is very informative and interesting; however, I have never seen a tour guide more disinterested than this guy Jorge. My god, we had to put coins in him to get him to move or talk. He could not care less if someone fell behind, or had questions, or anything. He was checked out. I think he has been doing this for over 20 years so he was fed up. Time for him to retire and allow new people to take over. Overall an OK tour.I would not highly recommend it.

Average

Average tour. Just sit in the bus and go around the city. No stop anywhere except a coffee shop and your designated drop off point. It would be much better if you take the hop on hop off service.

Dear MundlurA, Thank you for sharing your opinion on our Madrid Highlights tour. I am surprised to see that you did not wholly enjoy it, as it is one of our most popular services. We will certainly use your feedback to improve it. I hope to see you in one of our tours soon. Kind regards, Edgar W.

Great Tour or a UNESCO city!

Tour guide was great! Everything was superb! It was a great experience! My husband and I arrived 15 minutes early because our tickets said to do so, but when we go there, apparently, our tour left already, so we ran with the woman to their parking garage in hopes of catching the tour , which we did! Thank god, but you should just make sure you get there 1/2 hour early and NOT 15 minutes like our tickets indicated.... If we missed this, we would have been devastated ! Luckily, Julia Travels did everything in their power to get us on that bus!

Great tour and a quick way to know more about Madrid if you don't have much time. The second part of the tour in Toledo was awesome.

the Panoramic Madrid Sightseeing...

the Panoramic Madrid Sightseeing Tour was worthwhile because it took us to interesting parts of the city, such as the business district, that we would not have seen otherwise. The tour guide had a pretty strong accent, however, and wasn't very friendly. Furthermore, the stop at the Hard Rock Cafe for toilets and drinks was something of a rip-off. Most people thought they would get complimentary coffee, but after waiting in line were only eligible for soft drinks. So the majority went ahead and paid for coffee. Combined with those who bought Hard Rock T-shirts brought some profit to the Cafe, but not much to us.

Toledo, on the other hand, had an outstanding guide, and Toledo should not be missed.
