A day trip from Istanbul.. an hr to the airport, ( pick up at 4:30 am) an hr flight, an hr drive to a travel agency, another van change, another hr drive to Pamukkale itself…( including an unscheduled stop at “ Red Springs” , then the whole in reverse to get back ( after 10 pm) !Not what I expected…in addition , a stop at an onyx factory and another at a textile factory NOT mentioned in the description was also not appreciated.. lunch was a buffet “ cattle call” but was ok.. the white terraces and Cleopatra pool swim in was the highlight but only about 2 hrs out of the entire 18 hr day.. and the guide Ismael was also very nice and caring .. but overall, honestly not a day trip I could recommend again… too much travel time and exhausting for comparatively minimal time at the actual place of interest.. either go to stay at Denizli and see Pamukkale or skip as a “ day tour” from Istanbul. Also need more guidance with the transfers.. at airports, figuring out getting boarding passes for a domestic flight and where to go for pickups was confusing for several people as there was no dedicated guide to meet us anywhere and English minimally spoken.
The Pamukkale tour we joined was truly an amazing experience for us. We were picked up from our hotel in Istanbul and taken to the airport, and the welcome at the airport was just perfect. Everything was excellent. Our guide was very knowledgeable and patiently answered all our questions. We sincerely thank the agency for taking such good care of us
I was really impressed with the level of care and attention to detail by the tour company- specifically Huseyin. He was able to arrange a reasonable rate for the tour and all the pickups and drop offs he scheduled were right on time. The tour guide Matt was also very knowledgeable and funny. All the drivers were courteous and helpful. Pamukkale itself was such a fantastic experience. Hierapolis too. Although the main Pamukkale area was busy, our tour guide was able to point of some less crowded areas to take some beautiful pictures.
