Absolutely fabulous tour! We had a little trouble finding the meeting point, but Jerry came and led us to the site. Pirri (Captain) and Arturo Lara (Guide) were both phenomenal spotting animals and birds for our group. Arturo is very knowledgeable on the habitat and the animals living in it. He even walked us down the road before the tour started because he could hear Howler Monkeys and wanted us to see them. We saw both the Howler and Capuchin Monkeys, crocodiles, bats and numerous bird species. Arturo even tried to find a Jabiru Stork for me, but it wasn't around the nest he knew about. Would definitely do this tour again.
We had a great experience on our boat tour. The boat driver clearly knows the river very well, he knew all of the locations to look for specific wildlife. Our guide, Arturo, was very friendly and informative. We saw a variety of birds, iguanas, white faced monkeys and crocodiles. I would definitely recommend bringing bug spray with you. The bugs can be pretty bad in and around the river. The lunch after the tour was great. It was a typical Costa Rican meal cooked by a local family. I appreciated that this tour is ran by a family rather than a company. I would definitely recommend booking this tour!
Went on the 7 am tour and the animals showed up this morning! Plus breakfast was delicious. Arturo was fantastic! 10/10 recommend! Definitely come prepared for mosquitoes.
Lovely boat trip with Manuel, and many species to see, including white faced monkeys, herons, crocodiles, and more. Getting there by car was a bit tricky cause of the dirt road. Not a dangerous road but takes a while with all the potholes. The lunch was really good and traditional. Highly recommended
Excellent experience! Highly recommend. We saw multiple types of monkeys, crocodiles, lizards, and many birds. Our kiddos (7 and 4) loved it. Food at the end was great as well.
Fun morning tour with Arturo and his "pet" 🤣🤣🤣 Thursday! We loved hearing his family's deep history with these tours - and his knowledge and equipment really added to experience. We had no issues with meet up and had amazing Costa Rican lunch! We saw so many things from hanging monkeys to crocodiles, birds - so fun to be that close to the water .... he texted a day prior - maybe check with him to see if you should go low or high tide and plan around.... would recommend!
We had such a fun time. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the animals and area. We saw a number of animals. I would highly recommend this tour!
Our family was excited to have a wildlife viewing adventure that felt authentic and this experience best all our expectations. The communication from Artero was excellent from the start. And he was such an excellent guide. His enthusiasm and knowledge about the area and the animals were fantastic. We saw crocs, iguanas, several different kinds of monkeys and many many birds. Everything about the trip was top notch. Beautiful place and the people we interacted with really made the tour for us. Our elderly parents were well taken care of and they were so thoughtful to help us find as many birds as possible. Even on the drive out after the river the guides were still trying to find animals we we ran into a very cute family of white faced monkeys which topped the trip off perfectly And the lunch after was excellent. Highly recommend. This was a highlight of our Costa Rican trip.
Arturo was super good with responding….wiith great intentions!! Sad trip too may kid! 9 in our little boat and the river was near dry!! We went less that 100mts! Not worth the money. But a Very Great lunch with excellent food!
Hello. So sorry for the inconvenience caused. Sometimes there are families in my boats. Hope you were able to see crocs and monkeys even in the shallow water. There is tides on and off. Very difficult to predict. Otherwise I don’t think there is more than 100 meters ride. Again so sorry for the bad time.
Not everything promised is available. We were told there would be binoculars available, an max of 15 on the tour, and also a bilingual tour guide as we all speak English. When we got there, Arturo turned us over to his daughter that did not speak English. We were also told that there would be 12 people. ( we were a group of 11) on the tour and they were actually 20. Fortunately, the other patrons that joined our group did have a tour guide that stood at the very back of the boat so we were able to catch a little bit, but it would have been nice for our guide at the front of the boat to be able to give information. The activity in total is about three hours, this includes the 15 minute drive each way. It was nice that they offered a bathroom at check in! The river tour was fun, we did see crocodiles and monkey, blue herons, and even the performance of a “Jesus Christ” lizard, nicknamed as is can walk on water. After the boat ride we drove back to the little community and watched a pottery demonstration, which was fun. Fortunately, again, the tour guide with the other people was there and gave us some information and was able to act as an interpreter between the potter and the group. The meal was prepared, but scanty portions for our group of 11.
Hello. So sorry about the binoculars, my bad, I do have binoculars for everyone. Unfortunately the regular scheduled tour includes more people in the boat. My daughter usually show the way to get to the river and there is a guide in every boat, which have over 30 seats capacity. So sorry I have to guide a even a larger group.
