Paella & Sangria Class with Tapas and Market Visit

Description
This is the first cooking workshop ever created in Alicante, founded in 2022 by local hospitality professionals. Unlike other classes, we make the Central Market a key part of the experience. You’ll explore its colourful stalls, meet local vendors, and learn about the flavours and traditions that shape Spanish cuisine. Then, step into our real working kitchen inside a local restaurant — not a tourist set-up, but a place where locals actually eat. Guided by our professional chef and host, you’ll prepare your paella from scratch, including the broth and salmorreta, the traditional sofrito base. Choose your flavour — seafood, meat, or vegetarian — and enjoy your homemade paella, sangria, and local appetisers in a relaxed atmosphere shared with travellers and locals alike. This is Alicante’s most authentic gourmet experience, created by locals who truly love their city, its markets, and its food. Real professionals, real products, real local flavour.

Super fun way to explore the market and get a taste of Alicante paella. We learned so much and we had a great time talking to all the other travelers and the chef! Shoutout to the chef for their patience.
Freddy was an excellent guide and teacher. We enjoyed his humor and our food was delicious. We look forward to taking another classz
Amazing experience. We learned so much and had so much fun. Fede was our instructor and he is super knowledgeable. Recommended 10/10
Frederico was great. Explained each of the ingredients and where to get them. He ensured we understood the steps in cooking. Excellent time and fun. We highly recommend this and Frederico.
This paella cooking experience was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Fred, our guide, was fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. He made the whole experience feel relaxed, engaging, and genuinely authentic. We began with a tour of the local market, selecting fresh ingredients and learning what makes a great paella. It was such a great way to connect with the local food culture. From there, we headed to the kitchen, where Fred guided us through preparing the ingredients, sharing plenty of useful tips and tricks along the way. Cooking the paella ourselves was a real highlight, and the atmosphere was fun and interactive throughout. Once everything was ready, we sat down to enjoy a beautiful meal together - delicious tapas, our freshly made paella, fresh fruit, and plenty of sangria to go around. Everything about the experience was enjoyable, well-organised and memorable. I’d thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a hands on and delicious way to experience local cuisine.
