Once Was Not Enough....

When we found out we would visit Buenos Aires again after 7 years, we immediately sought out Pachamama for a repeat indoctrination to Argentinean cooking. It was that fun, instructive, and delicious. From hosting this cooking experience in his apartment in 2019 to the new dedicated storefront location in the quiet Las Canitas neighborhood of BA's Palermo district, it was quite a transformation. However, the expertise, flow, and efficiency of the class remained remarkable. Now with two assistants, Franco entertained us for three hours through a full four-course meal which we actually prepared for ourselves. Everyone participated in a meaningful way. Even with seemingly complicated dishes, one had the feeling that there was hope you could re-create each item in your own home. You will come away with pictures, recipes, and good friends from around the world. And you will not need to eat dinner....

Very well-prepared and fun class! We got to make a bunch of recipes as a team and then enjoy them together. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and funny, and we really enjoyed cooking together!

A great experience for the family

We love participating in cooking experiences when we travel as a family. This cooking experience went above and beyond, not only did they have tastings and cultural introductions. It was well planned and even more importantly, the food was delicious. Francisco was hilarious and made the event special for us.

Fantastic Cooking Class in Buenos Aires – Highly Recommend

Taking a cooking class at Pachamama Argentine Cooking Experience was one of the highlights of my time in Buenos Aires. The class was incredibly well organized, fun, and very hands-on from start to finish. We started with a welcome snack while learning about the history of Argentine cuisine, which set the tone for the experience. Then we rolled up our sleeves and cooked several traditional dishes together, including chipá, regional empanadas, humita, and a delicious dulce de leche dessert. Everything was explained clearly, and the instructors made it easy and enjoyable even if you’re not an experienced cook. What I loved most was the atmosphere. The group was small and interactive, so it felt more like cooking with friends than taking a class. The instructors were knowledgeable, funny, and shared lots of tips about Argentine food and culture along the way. At the end we all sat down together to enjoy the meal we prepared, paired with wine, which made it feel like a true Argentine dining experience. It was a great way to meet other travelers while enjoying fantastic food. If you’re visiting Buenos Aires and want something memorable to do, I highly recommend this class. It’s a fun way to learn about the country’s cuisine and leave with recipes you can actually recreate at home.

Argentine Cooking Experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our cooking experience at Pachamama today! Franco and his team were incredible, very kind, and informative! Everything we ate and created was absolutely delicious! Perfection from the Tortitas Mendocinas, sauces, Chipa, Empanadas, Dulce De Leche Crepes to the wines and lemonchello! This experience is dialed in! Thank you for a great event! If you are interested in a cooking experience, I highly recommend Pachamama Argentine Cooking!

A Savory and Culturally Rich Buenos Aires Cooking Class Experience

If you want to enjoy an authentic and savory Buenos Aires cooking experience, I heartily recommend Pachamama. The cooking class is informative, detailed, and entertaining. Francisco, the owner and a professional chef, and his team, Juan and Peter, were engaging and enjoyable to be with. They took us step by step through the recipes for making empanadas, dulce de leche crepes, humita (savory corn chowder), and cheese bread with quince. The 14 people who joined the class got their hands in the dough, on spoons to stir the ingredients, formed the empanadas with their fingers, tasted as the ingredients came together, and flipped the crepes in the frying pans. In between, we were sipping Malbec and Chardonnays (and water) and were entertained by Francisco’s jokes and stories. Even better, we met people (mostly from the U.S.) who enjoyed easy conversations and sharing their stories. Cooking, particularly in Argentina, is a family experience. And, for a few hours, we were a big family, learning from Francisco, Juan, and Peter, and sharing food and good company. For about three hours on an afternoon, take the time to enjoy the Pachamama cooking class. You'll come away satisfied, with new recipes and possibly some new friends.
