We were picked up at the cruise port, unfortunately no one communicated how far we had to walk with our bags to get out of the port, as they would not allow tour operators in. We then drove to Giza, picked up the guide, as she was not with the driver. We then headed to the pyramids, it was one fantastic wonder after another. We had lunch at 5pm, the restaurant was very good but we were rushed out for a wedding at 6pm. Other than a few "glitches" , the tour was fantastic. Our guide was very knowledgeable and our driver was fantastic!! We stayed at Tolip hotel which was gorgeous in new Cairo. I highly recommend, we had a great time and would do it again!!!
I am writing to express my disappointment with the Cairo overnight tour we recently took. Despite the promising itinerary, we encountered several issues during the trip. The lack of lunches provided, absence of water on an 8-hour tour, and unsanitary conditions on the Nile dinner cruise were major letdowns. While the hotel accommodations were satisfactory, the language barrier with our tour guide made it challenging to fully appreciate the experience. We requested a 15% discount to compensate for the shortcomings, but unfortunately, our request was denied. Overall, I would caution others against booking this tour due to the subpar experience we had.
Our driver was excellent and did a wonderful job throughout our 2 day tour. Our guide had a fantastic knowledge of the history…but he spoke too fast and walked too fast. We felt that he didn’t explain the procedure that would occur at the pyramids (camels rides etc) which disappointed us. Also we were not happy about all the side trips to carpet shops etc.
Walid the guide and Rashad the driver were excellent. They were able to pack all the best of Cairo in our two day port time. Walid is a fountain of Egyptian knowledge. The places we visited for quality shopping were great: carpets, papyrus, and essential oils.
