bad experience

Bad experience, very expensive tour prices, in the hostel in Puno we found the same tour at 50% lower, a total scam, I do not recommend this company for tours. they work with jumbo travel, bad guides, they don't speak english, bad organization with terrible service, bad experience

A very magical experience

This tour offers definitely a great value for the price. The first half of the day consist on visiting one of the floating islands, followed by a stop at Taquile Island, both are pretty amazing but my highlight of the tour is the overnight stay in the Luquina peninsula. The host family was very welcoming, I got to enjoy kayaking, a boat ride, sunset at El mirador and learn about all the crops and vegetables they grow, all in a relaxing setting at the shore of lake Titicaca. I got to enjoy dinner, breakfast and lunch with my host family, I got to try some of the vegetables and kinoa they grow in their farm while learning about the diffent comunities around the lake and history of the area. The rooms overlook the lake so the views are fantastic. If you are looking to escape at least for one night from the noise of town and relax, this is definitely the place to do it.

A unique experience!

The stay at a family of Amantani was really special. The simplicity of life on these islands makes us think back to the youth lived by our grandparents and perhaps great-grandparents. The flavors of local products, the colors of the clothes, the fact of having as a pet Paco, a small Alpaca... everything really special.

This tour was ok. The boat ride is very slow and takes a long time to reach the islands. The homestay was ok, our family was not so interested in the activities so put a downer on our experience and we missed the fiesta. The other groups had fun. The walking is steep but the views are amazing

Great tour including intimate experiences and close interactions with the local families and their cultures. However you can book this tour with your hostel when you get to puno for much cheaper as I found out afterwards.

Enjoyable but we did not have all the information entering this trip. Expect to spend LONG hours of transit on a boat, STEEP hike to your house, and then following day at taquile do another long hike for no new experience. Not for elderly or injured. Had to pay 30 soles extra for food and transit.

The boat was in good shape and everything left on time. Our guide was very nice but his english was hard to follow. The floating islands were touristy and seemed a little sad given their entire economy revolves around selling their reed trinkets. But it was still very interesting. Amantani was gorgeous and a definitely highlight. The host family was lovely and I really enjoyed the home cooking. Our rooms were sparse but clean and there were plenty of blankets. Beds were not comfortable by US standards but definitely got a good night sleep -- we were tired from the hike and traveling. Would recommend. Keep expectations low for floating islands.

This was a fantastic tour with a very interactive programme. The first stop at the reed islands explained how they are able to float. It also offers an additional trip on a reed boat for 10 soles, 3. This was a strange experience though the children from the island came on and sang to us, then immediately looked for money and tips. This lowered the tone of the entire tour. We met our hosts and were shown to our bedrooms which were amazing, the majority of the other people on the tour agreed with me, with some people who were a little disappointed. The food cooked for us was amazing, fresh and huge portions. The party that night was so much fun with everyone dressed traditionally, but again we were asked for tips. Just be aware of this. Overall, a great experience.
