Bordering a gorgeous lagoon of perfect water, excellent surfing waves, and beautiful golden sands, Oualidia is a quiet seaside resort for those who want a quieter break away from the busy streets of Marrakech. Oualidia has since grown to become a popular destination for both Moroccans and tourists alike. While this means Oualidia is getting busier each year, it’s still a quiet fishing town during the off-peak seasons in the year. Oualidia’s beach is protected from the heavy swells of the Atlantic by a large sand bar stretching across the mouth of the lagoon. Here, you’ll see local fisherman looking for oysters, shellfish, and fish to sell at the dozens of markets inside the town. You’ll be able to pick and choose the fish you want and watch as they’re cooked for you on the beach. There are also exciting activities to try out further inland, with plenty of places for mountain biking, quad biking, horse riding, or hiking around the surrounding hills.
