You’ll weave your way through Osaka’s streets with one of our local Osaka hosts, feasting on regional Kansai dishes. Known as ‘Kuidaore City’, meaning ‘to ruin oneself with food’, we’re sure you’ll agree that this sounds like you’ve happily landed in the country’s gastronomic capital! You’ll feast on Kobe beef, best served grilled or in Tecchiri. Round things off with dessert! You could go for sweet rice cakes, rainbow-colored pancakes or matcha flavored ice-cream. Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the xperience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do.

Begin your journey at this bustling covered market, lovingly known as “Osaka’s Kitchen.” Sample juicy grilled scallops, savory croquettes, and seasonal fruits as your host shares insights into local ingredients and culinary customs.
Wander beneath neon lights and alongside the Dotonbori Canal. Taste Osaka’s iconic takoyaki (octopus balls) or okonomiyaki (savory pancakes), and discover how this lively district shaped the city's food scene.
Tucked behind Dotonbori’s hustle, this narrow cobblestone lane offers a glimpse into old-world Osaka. Visit a peaceful moss-covered temple, then duck into a historic izakaya for grilled skewers and a glass of sake.

Five star experience! Our guide, Taiga, kindly met us at our hotel instead of the designated meeting place, and from there, we went on a tailored food tour based on our dietary preferences and the areas we were interested in seeing. Taiga was also thoroughly entertaining and very friendly. We learned that he is very well traveled, and we had an excellent time hanging out with him, learning about the places we visited, and experiencing delicious Osaka cuisine.

This was our best experience in Osaka with our brilliant guide, Mayura Kai. Very knowledge local, former chef and restaurant owner. Great English, friendly, well paced and delicious food everywhere we went. An excellent lunch and an incredible wander through the most expansive and best basement department food hall we have ever seen. Highly recommended.
