Jon was great. First he offered and arranged a car service (big taxi with a driver), which I highly recommend for families or people who get tired easily. Jon’s English is excellent. He also prepared some cards for us to read about the places we were visiting. I had no idea what we wanted to visit as I did not do my research so Jon chose places for us. Nara was my kids’ favorite city to visit because of the deer! They are everywhere! If you want to feed aggressive deer, by all means buy the food to feed them lol! Jon took us to Nara Park first, then Todai-ji Temple, followed by Kasuga Taisha Shrine. Then he took us down a street to eat lunch - my kids are very picky but he found katsu and soba in one place! He even helped me find some viral TikTok makeup I was looking for. He took a bunch of pictures of me and my family that we would have had trouble taking of ourselves. Highly recommend Jon 5/5!!!!
Jon did a great job. A truly conscientious guide.
Joey was our tour guide and he was amazing!!! He was very knowledgeable about all the places we went to and helped us learn how to navigate the train and subway system considering we got lost the day before now we understand it a lot better. We did the private tour so we loved that he accommodated our desires like going to the figure stores and do some shopping. Definitely worth the price of this is your first time visiting and definitely ask for Joey!
Thanks to Josh we had a great day in Osaka, not just touring the normal tourist stops. We did the Shrines and Temples, but approached them from unusual routes and with short diversions to see places less travelled. Josh was flexible with our plans and kept in contact before the day so that we didn’t duplicate any destinations already seen or not wanted. Chose a great local Ramen Shop that was like a movie set from the 1970s - tasted delicious. Big Thanks to Josh for a great day of sightseeing in Osaka. 🏯⛩️🇯🇵
A great day out with Tatsuya Ito in Osaka. The castle was a real highlight and the whole day was filled with history and interesting facts, we so enjoyed it!
This tour is great if you do some research on Osaka first. Then email Kei with your desired itinerary and he will work with you so you see what you want of Osakas many sights. At each stop Kei provided us with background and walked us through the site. He also listened to what we wanted to experience for lunch and showed us great street food. Be aware, however, that Osakas sights are spread out and you will likely need to use cabs between sites. We used a combination of Go and regular taxis and transportation is not included in the price. Nonetheless, this tour was better than the ship’s alternatives.
Kirico Sugahara is an extraordinary guide. She knows all about Osaka, Japan history and idiosincrasia, and knows how to transmit that in a clear and intelligent way. She is a very nice person and extremely efficient in her daily program. We had a great and wonderful experience with Kiriko.
I had an amazing time exploring Osaka with our tour guide, Josh! He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so many interesting facts about the city’s history, culture, and local spots. What I loved most were his local recommendations—they really added extra value to the trip and made me appreciate Osaka even more. Highly recommend Josh to anyone visiting Osaka. He truly made the tour unforgettable!
Our guide was excellent. He planned in advance with tickets that we did not have to wait in line. He also found all the items I want to shop in advance - super kind. He reached out to us 2 days before if we have any special interests that he could show. He also showed us how to use bus and subway! Excellent service and guide.
Experience was great. It was very personal, the itinerary was custom. I left the experience feeling very encouraged and confident in traveling throughout Japan using the trains because our tour guide explained everything and answered all of our questions. He was very knowledgeable and gave us history lessons on the sights we saw. He walked us off the beaten bath. He was accommodating and very friendly.
