Original La Jolla Sea Cave Kayak Tour for Two

Description
The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life. This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales! Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove. Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour. Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

Great Tour- It was SO much more beautiful from the water looking onto the sea lions, cliffs ect. There were two guides (take 2 tips), one front for fast paddlers and one rear so you could paddle at own pace. We met at a downtown store. There were quite a few blocks to hike to the beach where the kayaks are stored on beach- my only complaint was this fast hike. They had storage lockers at store, wet suit rentals and changing room. Loved the tour guide. Stopped plenty and showed us wildlife. The guide gets in the water and hand guides two kayaks at a time into the "caves" and back out. Very organized turn in process.
Is great, the guides are friendly and made very easy. Best experience ever. Highly recommended I’ll come back
We are from Idaho and love kayaking in the summer here, so to kayak on the ocean and go into one of the caves was so fun!! The guide was super nice and friendly and very knowledgeable!
I was charged a $15 fee by the company, because I booked through Viator. The second fee seemed wrong. I was ok with spending money of equipment. Then I paid to see a sea cave, we just kayaked in the ocean. There was no sea cave for us to visit. I was told that no one visited the sea cave on that day. The guide was nice, but the companies involved were shady.
It can be a workout. Water and win were a challenge. Views incredible. We were not able to enter caves due to waves.
Wonderful! The guides were amazing, and kept our adventure safe, exciting, and incredibly memorable (thank you!!). I highly recommend!
Baita and switch, coupled with plenty of upselling. Dishonest 1) An extra second fee for 15, just because I booked with an outside vender. 2) Third payment of equipment. The guides were nice, but so.e staff were less than nice. 3) We did not go inside the cave. I heard no one did today. This was an expensive kayak rental.
dbahmanou, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We know guests choose us for a memorable adventure, and we take it seriously when someone leaves feeling disappointed. We do want to clarify a few points, as transparency is extremely important to us: 1. The additional concessionaire fee is not a hidden charge or a bait-and-switch. All commercial beach operators in La Jolla are required to pay this city-mandated fee, and it is disclosed on the websites of all our booking partners. We understand any additional cost can be frustrating, but we are not adding this fee arbitrarily. 2. We offer optional wetsuit and locker rentals for guests who arrive unprepared for ocean conditions. These are not required purchases, and we intentionally keep these among the most affordable options in La Jolla so guests can comfortably and safely enjoy their time on the water. Our goal is to support our customers, not pressure them into additional purchases. 3. Entering the caves is never guaranteed because the caves are a natural environment that is constantly changing with swell, tides, wind, and ocean conditions. Our guides work closely with local lifeguards who monitor these conditions and determine when cave access is safe. We will always enter the caves when conditions allow, but we will never put our guests at risk just to provide a specific experience. In fact, we were able to safely enter the caves on the days just before and after your tour, but conditions during your specific time on the water did not meet the safety standards required for access. Unfortunately, that is one of the realities of exploring a dynamic marine environment. We understand that an adventure dependent on nature can be frustrating when the ocean does not cooperate. However, we hope it’s clear that our priority is always providing a safe and authentic experience — not promising something we cannot responsibly guarantee. Keep in mind, because you were on a tour and not a rental, you earned our Survivor Discount for discounted adventures and merchandise for the rest of your life! Give us a ring and we would be happy to help you choose a date with more favorable conditions and make sure you have the best possible chance at experiencing the caves. Best, Josh
We had an amazing time on that tour! We love that our tour guides really prioritized safety throughout the experience. We felt very good going out to open ocean with them. They also told us a lot of good facts. Tomas and Summer killed it as tour guides 10/10 would recommend!
We did a kayak adventure into the caves with Tyler and Bridget. These tours can always be a bit slow and tedious with large groups, but Tyler and Bridget did an amazing job of providing clear guidance, keeping us all moving and supporting people of all levels of experience. I would absolutely recommend them for this adventure!
Lovely experience. Guides were knowledgeable about safety and the area. Instructions were clear and easy to follow.
