After pickup at your Madurai hotel at 7 am, travel by private car and driver to (Tiruchirappalli) to visit the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple (or Thiruvarangam Tamil) where your guide explains why this Hindu temple, dedicated to Ranganatha (a reclining form of Vishnu) is so important and why the temple's location, on an island in the Cauvery River has left it vulnerable to natural disasters.
Then, around 1 pm, stop for lunch (additional cost) and then continue to Thanjavur to visit the Royal Palace and Art Gallery.
Next place to Visit is Brihadeeshwara Temples.
Also visiting Peruvudaiyar Kovil, a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva with is an outstanding example of Tamil architecture during the Chola dynasty. Also known as Periya Kovil, Brihadeshwara Temple, RajaRajeswara Temple and Rajarajeswaram, this temple is one of the largest in India. Around 4 pm, relax in your private car while your driver takes you back to your hotel in Madurai, arriving around 5 pm.

Beautiful spiritual history and architecture. Professional guide and friendly driver. Bring some money to tip them usually RS. 500 or above or as you wish, and bring some extra for shopping. When using restrooms only at stores they prefer small tips as well.
Wonderful trip! Got to see beautiful ancient temples and learn about their history. I asked the tour to include an additional temple (The Brihadeeshwara temple at Gangaikonda Cholapuram), which they were able to accommodate for a small price. We were all very happy with the service we were given.
