This was a wonderful tour! Terry was a wealth of knowledge about Normandy and the entire D Day invasions. A not to be missed tour; my family loved it & the weather perfect!
My family and I (8 total) had an amazing experience doing the full day tour! Our tour guide, Jean Dilasser, was super friendly, funny, and knowledgeable with so many cool info and facts he shared throughout the day. The full day tour was packed with cool stops like Omaha Beach, Normandy American Cemetery, and Pointe du Hoc. Jean was very accommodating and let us pick from a few options in the afternoon since we didn’t have time to hit every stop, but having that choice assured we got to see everything we wanted. We stopped at 7 locations (one included a stop for lunch), which was perfect for us. We saw more than we thought we would and had so much fun. One of my favorites was learning about the battles that took place at La Fière Bridge during the D-Day invasion. I would highly recommend that stop! It’s a less well-known battle but so important. Scheduling and directions were also easy to follow. I would recommend this tour to all people visiting Normandy who want to learn more about D-Day. This was one of the best experiences on our trip, and makes us eager to come back! 100/10.
Guide was excellent- very knowledgeable, interesting, managed time well. We visited the sites we were most interested in. I learned a lot- and was humbled by the sacrifices made on that day.
Great itinerary, Omaha beach, cliffs looking over Utah beach plus German bunkers, the US cemetery and lots of band of brothers sites. Our guide was outstanding! He brought great knowledge, perspective and storytelling. We were in Normandy two full days. The tour was a great way to see a lot and learn what we were seeing. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience! Our guide, Theirry's knowledge of the history and geography of these events brought the drama and emotions of D-Day to life. He also shared insights from veterans of many countries that he has interviewed. His passion for keeping memories of these important events came through at every stop. Do not miss this tour if you are a WWll buff!
My family and I went on a full day tour visiting Omaha beach and certain other sites including some band of brothers locations. Our guide was Jean DiLasser. Overall was an excellent experience. I am a WWII enthusiast so was really looking forward to the experience. The rest of the family initially did not have the same level of interest but ended up loving the tour. I want to highlight our guide who was very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour company and particularly Jean.
I learned so much on the Overlord tour with Lucas. He knew the history of the area (he grew up in Normandy) and had a passion for sharing the stories of the men who took the beaches. A lot of compassion as well for those who stood out during D-Day. The van was air conditioned which was important for this hot time of year. Thanks for a great hands-on history lesson.
Remy was absolutely great. We learned so much from his tour. We were able to take in all of the sites at Normandy and some special sites as well.
My family of seven booked a two-day private tour with Overlord, led by the wonderful guide Jean Dilasser. I can't imagine a better way to experience the D-Day sites and learn the history behind them. Jean brought the events to life. He is a gifted storyteller, with a command of history and an easy sense of humor (he even laughed at all of our family jokes). He struck just the right balance between sharing information and giving us time to explore each site on our own. Only a few people in our group were WWII buffs, so I wondered whether two full days would be too much. But every stop added something new, and by the end I wouldn't have wanted to miss any of it. One thing that made the tour even more meaningful was reading Band of Brothers and The Longest Day beforehand. Some of us read them in the days leading up to the tour, and having that background made it an even richer experience. I'd recommend doing that if you have the time. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Normandy, and I would recommend both Overlord and Jean without hesitation.
Remy was an amazing guide! Very professional, extremely knowledgeable and kept us on schedule so we didn't miss anything. Remy is very passionate about this time in history. I highly recommend this tour!!
