We took the full day Omaha and Utah Beach D- Day Tour. It was outstanding . Our guide, Remy was absolutely delightful and so knowledgeable ..we all learned so much about DDay and the war in general . I highly recommend this tour and by the way our young adult sons loved it as well. The meeting point was easy and the bus was very comfortable. We arrived in Bayeaux the day before the tour which worked out well . We took the 6:40 train back to Paris when it was over . It was a great outing!
Places where history was made: walking along the beach or among the crosses of the American cemetery gives chills thinking about how many people gave their lives.
We did a private tour with Lucas (Utah and Omaha beaches and the paratrooper drop zones) and it was spectacular! Our group consisted of my 80 year old mother with some mobility challenges, my husband and I, and our two daughters ages 7 and 10. Lucas was very kind to go at our pace so my mother didn’t miss out on any details and our kids were able to get their wiggles out while the adults listened. He was also very friendly and went above and beyond to provide us other recommendations in the area, etc. As far as the content of the tour, it was absolutely wonderful - we learned SO much! Further, although I thought my daughters were not very engaged, once we were back for the evening my kids asked us to quiz them on what they had learned and my husband and I were amazed at how much they had absorbed! Don’t hesitate to book this tour - it’s absolutely worth doing.
I took four days of tours: Omaha & Utah (William) British & Canadian (Louis) Airborne (Lois) and Mont St. Michel (Antoine). All fours tours were exceptional and very interesting and informational. This was a trip of a lifetime and did not disappoint. I would say the Omaha & Utah, and the Airborne were my favorites, but all were awesome and worth the price. The guides were incredible and extremely knowledgeable. I can highly recommend Overlords. Thank you gentlemen for the remarkable insight of Normandy and D Day. One last note, I stayed in Bayeux and it was a charming village.
We did the Full Day Tour as a daytrip from Paris. It was a very early morning, but it was so worth it! Remy met us at the train station in Bayeux along with a small group of others. It was such a pleasure listening to Remy's stories, personal experiences and history of the area, including connecting the dots from the different sites we visited. We traveled with 2 teenage boys as well, but it was one of their favorite parts of our trip. We hit so many sites, but there was enough time to explore each one and hear the related back stories. Remy even offered to talk pictures of our family (as well as all the groups), and provided lunch recommendations as well. We were very impressed with the whole experience. It only wetted our appetite to come back again to explore the region.
We booked a private tour with Lucas and it was one of the highlights of our trip. He was so knowledgeable and personable and we just wished we could have him guide us through the rest of our trip. Don’t hesitate to book, it was worth every penny.
Fascinating tour, which really brought the past to life. Our guide was Thierry who was warm and considerate, and who had a wealth of detailed information to share. I was with my 16 year old son, and we both got a lot out of the day.
Really enjoyed the tour today with our knowledgeable guide Jean DiLasser. Saw the beaches and American Cemetery.
My wife and I booked the all day private tour with Antoine. He is a former teacher and incredible story teller. I booked directly with Overlord and they told me we could customize our day the morning of the tour. He picked us up in Arromanches and in 5 minutes we had a plan. Neither of us knew much about the role of the Paratroopers during the D Day landing so we decided to focus on that and the American contribution to the invasion. We spent over 10 hours together and it was the single best tour we have ever done. Antoine began the tour at a small bridge in the Utah sector and brought to life the story of the challenges faced by the American Paratroopers when they landed behind enemy lines. The day only got better as we tour the museums, churches, beaches etc. Listening to Taps at the American Military Cemetery was one of the most moving experiences of my life. Thanks Antoine for a day we will never forget. Our only regret is we did not have another day to do the British and French version.
We took the full day tour of Omaha and Utah beaches with Overlord Tours. Our tour guide, Louis B, was extremely knowledgeable and explained in depth the battle strategies. He spoke of the heroism and unbelievable acts of courage of the American soldiers. Walking on the American cemetery was an emotional experience - the cemetery is kept in pristine condition in a beautiful setting. Many monuments, plaques, beautiful tributes. There are USA flags flown all other the local town - very moving. Working with the Overlord support staff was a pleasure. I had many questions and they were answered promptly and professionally. Highly recommend booking your tour through Overlord Tours.
