Itinerary
The tour begins by visiting Narikala fortress, where we will take the cable car and move up to the fortress and enjoy with its amazing architecture and historical sites. According the history the structure was established in the 4th century as a Sasanian citadel called Shuris-tsikhe ( "Invidious Fort"). It was considerably expanded by the Umayyads in the 7th century and later, by king David the Builder (1089–1125). The Mongols renamed it "Narin Qala" (i.e., "Little Fortress"). Most of extant fortifications date from the 16th and 17th centuries. In 1827, parts of the fortress were damaged by an earthquake and demolished. Guests can walk around the castle. From Narikala Fortress you can see two extremely different views. On the one side of the wall you can see a busy, hestic city and on the other side a quiet, peaceful forest known as the Botanical Garden.
The statue was erected on the top of Sololaki hill in 1958.In 1958 Tbilisi celebrated its 1500th anniversary. Prominent Georgian sculptor Elguja Amashukeli designed the twenty-metre aluminium figure of a woman in Georgian national dress. She symbolizes the Georgian national character: in her left hand she holds a bowl of wine to greet those who come as friends, and in her right hand is a sword for those who come as enemies.
From Narikala fortress we will walk down to Abanotubani. According to legend, this place became the reason for the founding of Tbilisi in the 5th century AD. Sulfur water flows naturally from the soil in the Abanotubani area and supplies about 3,000,000 liters of water daily and its average temperature is 47 °.
Right in the middle of the capital you can enjoy by the beauty of Leghvtakhevi Waterfall. By the way you can escape hot weather in summer and enjoy by the coolness. A beautiful gorge located within old town, that is very accessible to visitors, excellent pathways crossing Tbilisi’s lock bridge, small but perfectly formed, innercity waterfall.
After the waterfall we will take the road to Chardin street, the most colorful and favorite street in Tbilisi. Named in honor of Jean Chardin, a French traveler, who traveled to Georgia in the 18th century and returned to his native land with great fascination. This street is famous for its nightlife that lasts until 5 a.m.
One of the holiest places in Georgia. The first church was built here in the 5th century by the order of Vakhtang Gorgasali. The present temple is a 17th-century building which keeps the fourth century St. Nino's original cross.
Beautiful walking glass bridge, which is on the list of 10 most beautiful bridges. A sightseeing spot you must not miss, the Peace Bridge was officially opened in 2010. It is 156 meters long and consists of 10,000 lamps.
Through Rike Park we will visit the St. Mary's Cathedral of Metekhi, located on the left bank of the river Mtkvari. According to the legend, the remains of St. Shushanik can be found here. You will hear interesting information as there is a statue of Vakhtang Gorgasali situated in the yard of the Metekhi Temple.

We had a wonderful tour of Old Tbilisi with our guide Lucas. The visit was fascinating, and the wine tasting was an excellent addition to the experience. Lucas is a young, dynamic, and highly engaging guide who knows his city extremely well. He shared many interesting stories and insights, making the tour both enjoyable and informative. We highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Tbilisi!
A walking tour with lots of historical and geographical insights, including a welcome stop to sample quality wines. Lela was a wonderful guide. Very personable and knowledgeable with excellent English and a good sense of humour. We would have missed many of the little streets and hidden gems if we were on our own. Be prepared for hills and cobble stones but it’s nothing most people can’t handle.
Great history lesson and walk around the beautiful sights of Tbilisi. Mirian was our tour guide, and he was fantastic! Definitely ask for him. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great way to explore Tbilisi, Old town!
Lely was a wonderful guide around the city. She was very knowledgeable and patient with us, as we are little bit older and needed a couple of breaks to rest. Lely made the tour very interesting and showed us some beautiful areas of the city which was even more beautiful at night!
Our tour guide was wonderful. So much local knowledge, but always checked how much we wanted to know. Her English was native level immaculate (despite it being her fourth language!!). She was native Georgian (we even bumped into her mother!) and had so many insights into this country’s rich history and culture. The wine tasting was amazing.
Geo was knowledgeable and tailored the walking tour of Tblisi to our requirements. Wine tasting was at a shop and we tasted 5 or 6 wines and cha cha
We had a private tour with Luka who was lovely and very knowledgeable. The tour was mostly around old town. We loved the wine tasting stop.
