Old Tallinn Highlights & its Medieval Past

Description
On this tour, you will see all the main highlights of Tallinn’s Old Town and learn more about daily life in the Middle Ages. We’ll explore merchants’ dwellings, a 15th-century pharmacy that’s still in operation, the medieval marketplace, the district of knights and nobility, churches, the Town Hall, artisans’ and merchants’ guild halls — and of course, the city wall and its towers. As we walk, you’ll find out: who lived in the Upper and Lower Towns, who was exempt from paying entrance fees to the city, how drunkenness was dealt with in medieval times, the cost of black pepper back then, why some young men were called "Blackheads", the meaning behind the medieval proverb “Town's air sets men free” — and much more! We invite you to explore Tallinn’s Old Town — a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a rare and authentic medieval atmosphere. Don’t miss it!

The guided walk through the Old City was magnificent. The guide led the tour in a very professional manner, and we learned a lot. I recommend it!
Just like this review, we didn't know where to start in Tallinn. Ania gave us a great, well rounded introduction to the old town. The tour had a nice pace and was long enough to see quite a few sites. On top of these, Ania gave us multiple recommendations for additional places to visit and restaurants to eat at. Highly recommended.
I would like to thank Anna for interesting tour in the old town. Time flew very quickly. I recommend Anna for personal tours and for groups.
We had a wonderful experience with Ania. We had just one day in Tallinn, so we wanted to ensure we made the most of it - so we opted for a private tour. Ania was extremely knowledgeable and caring. We had to help her find the right English words from time to time, but it made the experience more genuine in a way - cultures connecting. We highly recommend a Tallinn tour with Ania!
