Itinerary
Embark on this culinary journey in this charming German town. You will explore the Mitte district, the central area of Nuremberg, and you will try a multitude of local flavours, which have made Nuremberg a town to discover through your taste buds, as well! Please, bear in mind that the tastings here described can change according to the season and the availabilities of our partners.
We will start our tour in one of the most famous squares in town, where you will have a view of St Lawrence Church, a medieval church of the former free imperial city of Nuremberg. From here, you will take a walk across the southern part of the Mitte district with our Local Expert and have a taste of a staple of German cuisine: bretzels!
In the magic atmoshpere of this local medieval neighbourhood, where the houses are small and half-timbered, the streets are narrow and the artisans showcase their know-how, you will have a taste of one of the most famous dishes in town: Nuremberg Sausages. Deliciously grilled and of course served with a glass of Franconian beer. A regional favourite!
Have a seat in this charming restaurant near the house of the famous German painter Albrecht Dürer and try one of the most famous dishes in town: Schäufele! It's a slow-roasted, tender pork shoulder known for its rich flavor and crispy crust. We’re serving an original twist on this classic: pulled pork-style Schäufele! Simply unmissable
You will end the tour on a sweet note, indulging in one of the most delicious local desserts, the famous Lebkuchen. It's a traditional gingerbread that has been made in the city for centuries. These spiced cookies, often glazed or coated in chocolate, offer a deliciously sweet and aromatic treat. Enjoy them with a stunning view on Nuremberg Castle, an imperial symbol of the glorious past of this town.

The tour of the city was fantastic. Hermann reached out prior to our tour to introduce himself and offer suggestions. He is very knowledgeable about all things Nuremberg. The restaurants and food selections were all tasty and gave us a way to try German food. His English was easy to understand. I would highly recommend booking this tour.
This is a fabulous food tour that weaves a lot of medieval and WWII history of the city into it. Honestly, the tour is much better than its rather dry description. Herman was our guide for almost 4 hours as we walked, talk, and ate (and ate!) our way through the city. I have done many food tours around Europe - this is one you shouldn’t miss. Fantastic!

One of the best food/city tours we've ever had. Hermann is so knowledgable and passionate about Nuremburg. He was so committed to making this tour the best we ever had. Hermann was friendly and was our best friend by the time we were finished. He planned the next two days activities for us. We actually did 90% of what he suggested. Thanks Hermann!!!
Our tour was wonderful, Latifa was a great tour guide. I traveled with my four year old and she even took the initiative to provide a stroller to make it easier for him. She was extremely friendly and made us feel very comfortable and informed about the food and culture. Thank you so much, would recommend.
We had a lovely day and learned so much about Nuremberg. The food was delicious and plentiful! Latifa was knowledgeable about the food, the city, and beyond!
