Standing for 2 hours. Didn't answer the phone. Got hold of it after 3 hours. Turns out they brought the wrong people, forgot to check names. There was nothing more we could do. Requested to bring us by taxi, was not an option.
Great fun activity, well organised and timed well to beat the crowds from the cruise ship in port. Lots of good view points
The walk was great. The guide was attentive, dedicated and very professional, transmitted safety. It was a rich walk.
To be honest, this trip would’ve been better if it didn’t rain so hard the previous night because the whole thing was about the views and we couldn’t see a thing because of thick mist everywhere also felt we were a bit herded into souvenir shops. We were also told to wait by the Pharmacist for a pick up keep in mind we never been to this place before so we were just acting on what we was told the driver/Guide was very rude by saying we were not there when we was ! and on time.
Dear Guests Sometimes i waste time responding to certain reviews. 1. Bad review because of the weather? No views you had sun and nice views in the villages it only rained a little. The sledge ride went down without any problem. 2. Finish your review dont leave it half way. Rude driver? He went past the meeting point 2 and you having coffee while the others were waiting for you in the bus delaying the other pick ups. The office had to make an international call for you to meet the driver. Yes you found the meeting point but decided to have coffee and leave all the others waiting. Should the driver be happy with you? Neither are we after this lying review. Reviews like these should never be allowed.
We had a lively tour guide/driver with good sense of humor. He drove safely in those narrow winding streets in villages. This tour gave us a different experience that Madeira has to offer.
Pro -Really lovely tour with an informative tour guide. Stunning scenery, multiple stops.sledge ride was great fun. Cons- tour operator secret Madeira were a nightmare, did not answer any of my emails regarding pick up locations and time.Had to contact Viator who managed to contact this company on our behalf. Smallish tour bus, seat belts the worst ever so tight and uncomfortable. Would recommend this half day tour with a different tour operator.
The hair raising drive around the hilly roads to our destination culminated in a fantastic sledge ride down the shiny roads. Never once did we feel in danger with the masters of their trade.
Nice view, friendly driver. Nothing wrong with the excursion itself, but viator resceduled the tour 2 times
This was a fantastic trip, especially the toboggan ride. Carlos was a fantastic guide who made this a great experience and I can' t commend him enough.
This was a half day tour. We booked with Secret Madeira where one option is a bundle of 3 tours (with East and West) at a very good price. The only pricing issue is the sled ride in Monte has to be paid separately - having said which it meant we went first as there was no queue and the rest of the group were awaiting their tickets from the driver The owner of Secret Madeira picked up or dropped off a few people from the bus to avoid this taking too long to do all the pickups, which was a very smart and in our experience unusual move The sled ride is an absolute must do. The drive to Nuns Valley is really interesting, includes stops at several viewpoints on the way there and back. At Nuns Valley there was a tasting of local liqueurs, very good and very interesting.
