Our award-winning tour has hosted over 2,000 foodie travellers in groups no bigger than 8 exclusive guests. 120 min

Don’t follow the herd. Forget green curry and pad Thai, that's central Thai fare. Hop on board our private songthaew truck for four hours of feasting. Hit up the street eats and fresh markets across the city gorging on 15+ Northern Thai tastings. Many are unaware that this used to be the Lanna Kingdom well before it was part of Thailand and its food influences come from neighbouring Myanmar, China and beyond. We don't want to spoil the surprise, but some drool-worthy highlights include the zingy nam ngiaw noodles, the meaty larb salads, the sizzling lemongrass sai oua sausages and piquant nam prik relishes among many more lip-smackingly good tastings at places you'd struggle to find alone.

60 min

The tour concludes at the local Wararot Market along the Ping River. Enjoy local hospitality and meet new friends along the way. End the tour armed with the knowledge you'll need to continue eating street food across Thailand.

Amazing food experience

This is a brilliant tour, and the small group size makes it very personal. Moui was our guide and she was full of information and interesting facts. You hop around in the Rot Daeng to 5 or 6 stops and at each one try something different. You need to skip lunch and come hungry! You try loads of food you wouldn’t ever think of if you weren’t introduced to it by an expert - it might surprise you but no Khao Soi on this tour - it’s all more adventurous and interesting than that (and i love Khao Soi, but this takes it up a level)! Highly recommend it. Only regret is leaving the next day and not having chance to revisit some of the places we went.

Disappointing

We were a little disappointed with the tasting tour offered; indeed, there were few flavorful dishes and specific fruits. All that for a price that is quite high for Thailand We do not recommend this food tour.

We visited six different places: a big restaurant, a couple of mom n' pop style ones, two stalls, and a market. You get to sample various dishes of pork, chicken, water buffalo, vegan dishes, local fruit, and market snacks. We personally had only four people total in our group so it was smooth, small, and intimate.

Fun tour

We had a great time, far more food than we could eat but we were able to take the extras back with us. Our tour guide was kind and knowledgeable.

An amazing way to culturally explore Northern Thailand and surrounding countries without leaving Chiang Mai!

I went on this trip, having been to Chiang Mai once before but not exploring the food too much, other than the touristy Khao Soi etc. This food tour, explores many lesser known dishes and snacks which local Thais eat and also invites you to try food from Myanmar, northeastern and central Thai cuisine and more. My tour guide Muy was incredibly passionate and very knowledgeable about all of the dishes and the history behind them. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting to get a deeper understanding of Thai food culture!

Fantastic!

Moui was an awesome guide, and introduced us to some very unique and delicious food. We would recommend this tour to everyone, especially if you already tried Thai food in Bangkok because the northern food is so different. We loved it!

Informative tour, you won't be hungry afterwards!!

Muai was lovely, super knowledgeable about Northern Thai cuisine and the different influences from Burma and China and how the food in the north is different to the south. I wasn't overly thrilled to find out that some dishes had blood or bile in them until after I'd eaten them, that made me feel a bit duped, but the dishes were relatively tasty. Didn't love being presented with a plate of crickets!!! Hahahaha, but overall a very good tour

More than just a good tour

Aim was a really knowledgeable guide who didnt just know about the food but also wider history. She is clearly also passionate about the subject which comes through naturally. The food tour was incredible and more than what we hope for.
