Non-touristic Overnight Desert Safari and camping
Description
Start the tour with jeep and You’ll visit landmarks like the abandoned, centuries-old village of Kuldhara, jessiri pond (oasis middle of thar desert) before continuing to the golden dunes of the Thar Desert. It’s an overnight desert experience where you sleep outdoors on sand dunes, with no roof above you—just the open sky under the stars. Far from city lights, the desert offers incredibly clear views of stars, constellations, and sometimes even the Milky Way. You reach the dunes by camel safari usually in the late afternoon As the sun sets, there’s time to tea and snacks, relax, take photos, and enjoy the silence. Camel man make traditional fresh food on wood fire, and after the dinner sleep under the stars and enjoy the starry night on charpais (cots) or thick mattresses. Warm blankets (desert nights can get chilly, especially in winter). Deep silence, broken only by desert winds. The next morning—after tea, breakfast you’ll return to your hotel.

According to local folklore, the village was deserted overnight in the early 19th century. Salim Singh, the then Diwan (minister) of Jaisalmer, allegedly sought to marry the daughter of the village chief. When the villagers refused, he threatened them with severe consequences. To protect their honor, the villagers, along with those from 83 neighboring hamlets, fled, cursing the land to remain desolate forever. The village's eerie silence and abandoned structures have fueled numerous ghost stories. Visitors and paranormal enthusiasts report hearing voices, feeling sudden chills, and witnessing unexplained phenomena. In 2013, a Delhi-based paranormal team claimed their drone malfunctioned over the village, attributing it to supernatural interference.
Jaseri Pond serves as a vital water source for local wildlife and migratory birds, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts and photographers. The pond is surrounded by lush greenery and sand dunes, creating a picturesque setting that contrasts with the surrounding desert terrain.
During the tour, we will visit villages in the Rajasthani desert and see the traditional daily life in the desert, cross over many dunes, head to a remote places of the Thar Desert, Sleep in the custom made bedrolls under the stars, and experience one of the most beautiful sunset, night sky, and sunrise in the world.

Very good experience with my friend. Highly recommend
It is a trip for a private party but you will be near other small camps or bigger clamping sites. This unfortunately reduces the feeling of being ‘alone in the desert’. The cook and his aid were very nice.
Unforgettable silent starry night in the desert! Excellent guide Ali told us a lot about the desert and the villages around Jaisalmer. Camel men Ganesh and Umed guided us on camels through the desert and Umed cooked delicious food for dinner and breakfast! They were all very kind and did their best to let us feel at home! Highly recommended!

Our time was great! We enjoyed the camel riding and played on the sand dunes. As it faded into night, we saw so many stars and sat around a small campfire. The beds were also very comfortable, and we all slept great. We traveled in early September and the weather was great. We were unsure if we were going to see any sand dunes, but as we got closer with the camels, we were not disappointed to find a fairly large dune for us to camp on. Overall, it was a great experience.

It was a wonderful experience with Desert Eagle safari. They were amazing hosts who took care of all our needs and were a very friendly accommodating staff. The package included camel safari and dune bashing along with cultural show and accommodation. Everything was very well done. It was absolutely a wonderful experience that I’ll never forget.

I recommend this activity for everybody and girls alone can feel very good and safe on this tour. The guys working there are very professionals, interesting and cool. They will take care of you and give you a good explanations about the local life and the local culture. The tour is amazing, excellent food and magic moments on the desert.

Wow ..I am short of words to describe my experience at thar dessert ..these guys are highly professional as compare to other safari tours . Well spoken and punctual . No hidden charges . They deliver exactly what they have mentioned in the package . Very safe for girls as I was traveling solo . I highly recommended . I come to know about desert eagle safari by Golden eagle hostel threw booking.com it was just awesome. I club with 10forighner group. Every thing was well arranged camel ride sun set star at mid night sun rise on dunes every part has it's own story. Team meals and arrangmets was wow thanks to desert eagle safari for sure will plan again with my friends.
