Definitely buy your tickets beforehand. They were sold out by noon, but we were able to go straight in with tickets we bought the week before! Do not skip this monument! I liked this better than the Eiffel Tower tbh!
This was one of the best things we did the whole time we were in DC. You could see so much that we didn’t get to experience even after being here for days. All the history and all of the lookouts are labeled. We did a timed entry fast pass ticket and it worked out perfectly. We waited five minutes. I would highly recommend this experience no matter in your travel if we had small children adult children, and there were several people in a wheelchair so this was very ADA friendly.
Amazing opportunity to see the district from a Birds Eye view. Two levels of history and all the historical details within the tallest all stone building in the world.

You can get tickets free but had to pay $25 because all the tickets were gone. Literally sent me a ticket to get in - should’ve been $1 for transfer fee

An amazing experience. We had to wait for hardly 10-20 minutes in the line. And we were completely ok because we must respect the security checks. It's for our safety only. The security check officers were great and provided the needed information and guidance since this was a self guided tour. David, was the person - guide -;who was in our constant contact regarding the tickets and other information. He explained us everything thoroughly and informed us in advance that this will be a self guided tour and he made sure that we had our tickets with us. He reminded us again and again about the tickets. He sent us text messages, and emails with our tickets. I have read the reviews on Viator that some travelers have complained about not receiving their tickets. But Through Viator my experience was amazing and I had my tickets before I reached there. My family was so amazed to see the monument from inside and specifically the museum inside.

The Washington monument tick is likely to get canceled. It took us 3 tries after being cancelled twice.
