Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Muscat toward the historic city of Nizwa, once the capital of Oman. Along the way, enjoy views of small mountain villages and date palm farms.
At Nizwa Souq, travelers can wander through one of Oman’s oldest and most vibrant markets, full of traditional charm and local life. The souq is famous for its silver jewelry, handmade daggers (khanjars), pottery, spices, and dates. Visitors can: Explore local crafts — watch artisans shaping pottery or engraving silver. Shop for souvenirs — from colorful fabrics and incense to handwoven baskets and Omani perfumes. Taste Omani flavors — sample local dates, halwa (Omani sweets), and strong Arabic coffee. Explore Falaj Al Khatmain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the historic town of Birkat Al Mouz near Nizwa. This ancient irrigation system, dating back hundreds of years, channels water from the mountain springs of Jabal Al Akhdar to the surrounding date farms and villages. As you walk along the shaded pathways beside the falaj, you’ll see how the crystal-clear water flows quietly through the stone channels, nourishing green fields and palm groves in the desert landscape. It’s a living example of Oman’s traditional engineering and sustainable way of life, still used by locals today. The peaceful atmosphere, old mud-brick houses, and mountain backdrop make Falaj Al Khatmain a perfect spot for photos and a glimpse into Oman’s timeless rural heritage.
After exploring Falaj Al Khatmain, we begin our ascent toward Jabal Al Akhdar, the Green Mountain. The drive winds through rugged mountain roads and breathtaking scenery, passing small villages and terraced farms along the way. As the altitude rises, the air turns cooler and fresher, revealing spectacular views of deep valleys and dramatic peaks — a journey that truly captures the beauty of Oman’s highlands.
Upon reaching Jabal Al Akhdar, we’ll stop for lunch at a charming Iranian restaurant known for its delicious food and warm hospitality. Enjoy a freshly prepared meal on the beautiful balcony overlooking the mountains and valleys — a perfect place to relax, take photos, and breathe in the cool mountain air before continuing our adventure.
After lunch, our adventure begins at Princess Diana Point, where you’ll marvel at the breathtaking canyon and panoramic mountain views that inspired its name. Next, we explore the charming villages of Al Ain and Al-Aqur, wandering through narrow lanes and discovering terraced farms, traditional stone houses, and the daily life of local villagers. Finally, we visit Wadi Bani Habib, where a short hike allows you to walk among lush terraces, pomegranate orchards, and ancient village structures, immersing yourself in the timeless beauty and culture of Oman’s highlands.
After exploring Wadi Bani Habib, we begin our scenic drive back to Muscat, enjoying the mountain views one last time. Arrive in the late afternoon or early evening, concluding an unforgettable day filled with history, culture, and the breathtaking landscapes of Oman’s highlands.

My 2nd excursion with Said, as previously I was picked up from my hotel in muscat. said arranged this tour on Friday so I could see the weekly goat/cattle/camel auction which was a plus and an authentic experience. We explored the fort, souq which is the best place in oman for authentic omani artifacts. We ate and sampled many local delicacies, buy dates/saffron here. The fort is an architectural masterpiece. I decided to skip jebel akhdar because it was july and dry season. I opted to see jabreen castle, bahla fort, and birkit mouz ruins which I believe was way better. Said changed the itinerary with no problem. I definitely would recommend booking with 2 brothers adventures via Said who presented oman with passion, he gave me so much information which I appreciated, I felt like I was in an oman lecture in a history class but he wasn't dry with the information. Nizwa Souq & Fort and the Mountains are a must visit when in Oman. Heritage galore, panoramic views, traditional villages and lots of Omani culture. It was hot,hot, hot, but our guide, Said, made sure that we paced ourselves appropriately, with stops for refreshments, date tasting and a light lunch in a traditional restaurant. All in all a very memorable day,

We recently had a wonderful family day trip to Nizwa & the Jebel Akhdar mountains and all thanks to our local guide Said. We started in Nizwa exploring the fort and the traditional souk where we picked up some Omani halwa, local dates and also we enjoyed a few sips of Omani coffee. The drive up the mountain was absolutely beautiful and the cooler weather at the higher altitude was such a nice break from the summer heat. We even visited the highest viewpoint and enjoyed some incredible scenery. Although the rose season has just ended, pomegranate season was beginning so we got to see lots of blossoms all around. Said took us down to Wadi Bani Habib to see the old and abandoned mud houses and the terraced firms and he shared so much interesting history along the way. He also brought us to a local restaurant for lunch and the food was delicious. Overall it was an excellent experience . Said was very friendly, humorous and wonderful with the family, very knowledgeable and engaging throughout the trip which made the day very relaxed and enjoyable for all of us.If you’re visiting Oman, we would definitely recommend booking a tour with him and experience the beauty of this beautiful country.

We had a fabulous day with Said who took us to Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar. He took us to some really interesting places and we felt very safe with him. He was very knowledgable and a great driver. The car was very comfortable and he also supplied water. We went to a great local restaurant, visited some date shops in th lovely village of Nizwa and then went on to see the roses at Jebel Akhdar - we were lucky to go when they were in bloom. We were also taken to a lovely rose factory and saw how the oil and rose water was produced. I would highly recommend using Two Brothers for your trip to Oman.

We had the best day with Said in the mountains. It was a long drive to Nizwa and on to Jebel Akhdat but Said kept us entertained with great conversation. He was so knowledgeable and told us about Oman culture and other places of interest. . He was cheerful, funny and couldn’t do enough for us. We went to a great place for lunch and everything throughout the day ran smoothly. He is a great driver and we felt very safe. In fact we liked the trip so much we’re going on another one tomorrow! I visited Oman last October and used Said as our Muscat guide, so it was a no brainer to contact him when I returned this week for a visit to Nizwa & the Green Mountain. He's a super friendly, knowledgeable local who goes out of his way to give you an authentic experience of Oman. Nizwa is the ancient capital so the Soul & Fort are essential on any visit, and the Green Mountain is spectacular at over 2000 metres . Said's tours are fun and fast paced, he provides a great value experience...don't hesitate if you're thinking of using his services, this guy is a genuine superstar.
Having used Said's services in an earlier trip last October, once I decided to return to Oman again, he was the obvious choice as his service / tour is so professional. Nizwa and the Green Mountain was somewhere I'd read about in tourist guides, but I didn't want a ' package tour' experience, so again, he was the obvious choice to experience ' the real Oman' , escorted by a local. Nizwa is the old capital, with lots of history, and the Green Mountain feels like the top of the world. Great tour, amazing sights, super company ...10 /10. No hesitation recommending this to anyone interested in an authentic experience.
I found this tour to be fantastic. The tour is a full day covering multiple spots around Nizwa and the mountains. Whether you are a history buff, outdoorsman, or foodie I think there is something you will enjoy on this tour. Said is also a true gem. He can answer any questions you have about Oman, and keeps the energy and positivity going for the entire trip. Said is also very organized and keeps in contact with you leading up to the trip, so you can be confident the tour will run as planned. In hindsight I can’t imagine taking this trip with any other organizer. It was certainly the highlight of my entire trip to Oman!
