Description
Discover the fascinating underwater seascapes of the Nizuc Reef just off the Cancun coast. Complete the experience by getting a glimpse of the modern art creations belonging the MUSA Underwater Museum, a unique exhibition on the sea bottom. The journey starts with a relaxing ride through the Nichupte Lagoon and its scenic mangrove forest channels. Once you reach the snorkeling platform, you are just a few fin slaps away from the magical world of tropical corals and colorful fish. Your snorkel tube is brand new and you get to keep it after the adventure. Follow your guide to the nearby sculptures of the Underwater Museum to witness an art exhibit like no other. Get back on the platform for a brief rest before you jump back in to explore some more of the awe-inspiring flora & fauna. Best of it all - you can remain on the platform as long as you wish, as the boats shuttle regularly between the marina and the platform.

Upon arriving at Aquaworld, the man at the counter stated that he couldn't locate our reservation. He walked away and then returned to ask, "not to be rude but who is the oldest person is the group?" My friend stated he was 68. The man walked away again. He returned to say he was sorry that they cannot have anyone on the boat to snorkel who is over the age of 65. This was not in the fine print or the large print either! We did not go on the boat and I have requested a refund, which they have denied.
Thank you for your feedback. We would like to clarify that this restriction is established by the marina authority in Cancun. Due to safety regulations and the type of waves in that specific area, passengers over 60 years old are not permitted to participate in the snorkeling activity. This is a mandatory safety regulation, and operators are not allowed to make exceptions. Additionally, this information is clearly stated on the activity ticket and in the participation requirements. We kindly encourage guests to carefully review the activity details and restrictions prior to arrival, as these guidelines are provided in advance. We understand this may have been disappointing; however, these measures are strictly in place to ensure passenger safety.

The length of time permitted to snorkel is great. We were able to snorkel for 90-120 minutes. You are only able to snorkel in a small area of the reef so it isn’t as exciting as other snorkel areas I’ve been to. The boats to return people to the Aquaworld do not come very often so plan on being out on the raft/reef for 3 hours Time in the boat from base out to the reef platform is about 30minutes.

Overall it was a very well organized snorkeling trip with a super crew. A lot of time was taken for us and a lot was seen. I'd love to go back.
