Nazca Lines Full Day Trip from Lima

Description
See the mysterious and awe-inspiring Nazca Lines from the air on this tour from Lima. After the drive down the Peruvian coast from Lima to Paracas, take off over the lines (or geoglyphs, to get scientific) aboard a Cessna plane. As you fly over the Nazca Desert drawings, a UNESCO World Heritage site, take aerial photos and form your own opinions about their ancient meaning — there are many hypotheses! You’ll be returned to Lima at the end of the day.

Itinerary
Fly over the World Heritage-listed geoglyphs. The high, arid plateau of the Nasca Desert reaches across more than 50 miles (80 km); its isolation and dry climate has helped to preserve the lines over time. The exact origins and significance of these hundreds of figures are unclear, but it’s believed that the designs were created by the Nasca people between 400 and 650 AD. Fly over several of the individual designs, many of which are animals; your pilot will let you know which designs you're about to see; the monkey, spider, flamingo, condor and hummingbird represent the winter and summer solstices; their beaks point to the location of the sunrises and sunsets on the solstice days in Nasca. During the 1.5-hour flight, you'll have plenty of time to view the one-of-a-kind artwork with great photo ops from the air!

Good tour, good, smooth organisation. Good guide, but she took only the role of organiser, not a guide - she gave no information about Peru or Lima on the long way to Nasca and on the return. A more talkative and informed guide would be recommended.
A fantastic experience, which was very well organised, good guide and driver. Punctual, polite and informative.
An almost 12 hour journey taking one back into an ancient time that still amazes, mystifies and entertains the senses. Our guide and driver were attentive, knowledgeable and courteous. Our guide provided the right balance of information and quiet and always was ready to answer questions with the thoughtful reply and anecdote.
This is not an inexpensive trip but it is well worth it. Everyone has a window seat. The pilots bank the plane twice so both sides get a good view of each figure.
Our guide Miriam was very welcoming and kind. We were kept informed of the stages to our trip and were well looked after. The flight over the Nazca lines was exciting and exhilarating. Not for the faint hearted though as the plane banks and rolls a number of times in order to give every passenger a view of the incredible geoglyphs below…however, do take some anti-motion sickness medication beforehand if you can because a number of people on our flight were rather unwell mid-air as a result. All in all, a fantastic once in a lifetime experience.
Very good excursion, impressive flight over the lines of Nasca, although it takes a long time to enter and exit through the transit of Lima
Guide and driver took great care of us, especially when weather delayed our flight. The staff for the flight were also very good, explaining in multiple languages where to look in time for everyone to see the geoglyphs.
I was picked up at 6:40 am and dropped off at 7:30 pm. That is all I have to say but they demand more characters
Dear traveler, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're glad to know you joined us for the full-day trip to the Nazca Lines from Lima. It’s a long but rewarding day, and we hope the journey and aerial view of the geoglyphs left a lasting impression. If there's anything we can do to improve or if you have additional feedback, we’d love to hear from you. We look forward to welcoming you again on your next adventure in Peru! Warm regards,
The tour guide arrived early to my hotel, which was great, but he didn't speak English so I had no idea what he was explaining about Pisco or anything else. He used a translator on his phone to explain a couple of pertinent things but that was it. I understand I'm in a Spanish speaking country, but if you advertise that you have English speaking guides, and I indicate I'm English speaking when I book the tour, why wouldn't you make sure there was an English speaking guide? At one point we were dropped off for lunch, and when the van returned it was full of new people and my backpack had been moved. There is a reasonable understanding that your belongings will be safe in the van, but that wasn't the case. While the guide was very nice, all of these things added up to a poor experience. As for the Nazca lines flight, half of the plane was sick from the flying maneuvers. The flight was quick so you barely had a chance to see the lines.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we truly appreciate you bringing these important points to our attention. We apologise for the lack of English-speaking guidance, especially when it was requested and expected as part of your tour. Providing clear communication is essential, and we understand how frustrating it must have been not to fully enjoy the experience due to this issue. We are actively reviewing this situation with our team to ensure it does not happen again. Regarding the handling of your personal belongings and the unexpected change of passengers, we understand your concern. The security and comfort of our guests is a top priority, and we will reinforce our protocols with our staff and transportation partners. As for the Nazca Lines flight, while the flight path is designed to allow views from both sides of the plane, we recognise that the tight turns can be uncomfortable for some passengers. We will look into how we can better prepare future travellers for this experience. We appreciate your kind words about the guide’s attitude and are truly sorry that these issues impacted your overall enjoyment. Your feedback helps us improve, and we hope to have the opportunity to restore your confidence in a future experience with VIPAC.
Two of us went on a private trip and it was absolutely wonderful. Jonathan was very responsive and laid out next steps clearly and thoughtfully. Jose was our guide and he was absolutely incredible. His overview of what to expect from the lines flight allowed us to capture great pictures and clearly see all of the glyphs. As an add on we went to the Paracas Natural Reserve. Jose's deep knowledge of the geology, history and structure made it a very illuminating experience. He was a wealth of information about the whole area. Additionally, on the drive down and back he was great to talk to. He has an excellent sense of when people want to learn more and when they want to sit back and relax. His lunch recommendation was one of the best meals we had on the trip. Highly recommend this group for anyone hoping to see the Nasca Lines.
