Itinerary
Guests would visit the Aburi Botanical Gardens, an eco-friendly site that is focused on the protection of plant and animal species, opened in 1890. The garden has various botanical plant species with origins from different parts of the world. Some were planted by colonial governors and leaders in Africa and beyond like, Sir Gordon Guggisberg, General Olisengo Obasanjo, H.E Jerry John Rawlings, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles of Britain, and many others. These plants are used as food, for medicinal purposes, spices for food preparation and beautification.
The Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm is the first cocoa farm in Ghana planted by Tetteh Quarshie in 1870, located at Akuapim Mampong. Guests would be taken through the process of cocoa plantation from planting to harvesting then through the fermentation process which gives farmers raw cocoa beans that are exported in their raw state or sold to manufacturing companies for processing. Two of the original trees planted by Tetteh Quarshie himself still remain in the farm, bearing fruits. Ghana is known to be the leader in the production of quality Cocoa and the second in quantity after Ivory Coast.
This attraction can be found in Obosomase, located in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The Waterfall is also known as Obosomase waterfalls which runs on stratified rocks into a clear pool. The falls flows through a forest which used to be a home for the indigenous Ghanaian people 400 years ago. The waterfall is in two parts; the lower falls and the upper falls. To see this beautiful attraction, tourists would have to hike on a hill for about 25 minutes to arrive at the falls.

This is a wonderful tour that connects you to nature. The botanical garden was amazing; I know … but the trees and plants were spectacular. We also did the waterfall, what a serene place to clear your mind and the drive to both the waterfall and gardens were so nice and really different from busy Accra city center. And the cocoa farm was so insightful and quite the learning experience. A great tour all around and our guide Gian was wonderful - he even gave a great recommendation for lunch. Highly recommend and if you get Gian you’re in for a treat.
Hello Audrey, Thank you very much for your review. It is very much appreciated. We hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in Ghana.
The botanical garden and the cocoa farm were both very interesting and a good time. The waterfall required a steep walk down a long unpaved path to get there. And a very slippery rock path to get close to it, which I fell on and got some scratches and bruises. I was ok but too tired and wary to see the second waterfall there. The guide was good. The AC was not working in the car I was traveling in so it was hot.
Hello, thank you very much for your review. It is very much appreciated.
Driver and guide arrived early with an air conditioned vehicle. The botanical gardens were fabulous, we learned a lot at the first chocolate farm in Ghana and the waterfall was nice but we found the hike to be almost too strenuous given the hot weather and steady incline. We left around 10:30 and returned at 5pm. This tour is good value and a nice way to see some sights in the hills just outside of Accra. Guides at each location were knowledgeable and happy to answer all of your questions.
Hi Victoria, We are glad we were able to meet your expectations. Thank you for this review
It was a good experience. I thought I would have seen more herbs and spices. The waterfalls were breathtaking once you get there. Vistors need to know that the trek to get there is longer than expected and then you have 90 stairs to get to big waterfall.
Hi Adina, thank you for the feedback, we are glad you had a good experience
This is just to say thank you ProTour Africa for again organizing a good tour for my partner and I in Ghana. The schedule and appointments worked out well and the driver was good and careful and also the guide's quite ok, the guides at 'Aburi Botanical Garden' and the 'Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm were quite experienced. I look forward to doing another tour with you one of these days. Best regards and best wishes
Thank you very much for the feedback. We’re glad the experience was great. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Ghana.!!
An excellent opportunity to learn about nature, life in Accra and Ghana in general. Gian was a wonderful guide, both informative and fun!
Hello Natalie, thank you very much for this secondreview. We really appreciate you touring with us. Enjoy the rest of stay in Ghana and let us know when you need any assistance while you are here.
The Cocoa Farm was very interesting and I loved the practical aspect of the tour at the Farm. Another highlight of the tour was the opportunity to meet other garden enthusiasts at the botanical garden and exchanged tips and ideas. The group was small enough that we were able to chat with each other and learn from one another's experiences. this tour is worth the price.
Thank you very much for the positive feedback. We wish you a safe flight back home.
The Aburi Garden tour tour was a truly a delightful experience. As a lover of all things green, I was excited to explore the various gardens in the area, and I was not disappointed. The hike to the waterfall was challenging and not accessible for all ages. Along the way, we passed through a beautiful grove of trees which added to the enjoyment of the tour. The water cascaded down a series of rocks into a small pool, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere. It was the perfect spot to take some photos and just Overall, the mini waterfall tour was a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and connect with nature. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and refreshing outdoor experience.
Thank you for the positive feedback on your experience. It was nice meeting you. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Ghana.
This is definitely worth it! Price was reasonable and it was very organized and professional! We loved seeing Aburi garden, the cocoa farm was very informative and the Adom WaterFall was a good exercise session ( I recommend you dress appropriately). The tour guide was very flexible and ensured we were comfortable and having a good time!

The car was very comfortable (saloon car with AC). About the tour : we particularly enjoyed Aburi gardens. Such a peaceful place. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us so much facts about the garden and Ghana.
