My husband and I were so glad that we had signed up for this tour. Mica was our guide, and we were amazed at how much she knew about all the wonderful fish, penguins, kiwi, and the history of the area. She pointed out things we would have missed, and made our visit to the aquarium even more enjoyable.
Included behind the scenes acces to kiwi and peguin areas. Cruise passengers who booked through the ship were on same tour, so compare prices. Aquarium offered senior citien discount, but don't believe it included behind the scenes access. Holly was a very enthusiastic and friendly guide! Did a great job.
It was absolutely amazing and would absolutely recommend going out of your way to go visit this aquarium. On the tour I learnt, They do a lot for Native NZ conservation and house penguins that can sadly no longer be released due to injury’s or other reasons so they can still live a happy life. All enclosures are well maintained and clean the staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable. Super safe and accessible for people of all ages.
