Nassau Kayaking Adventure: Snorkeling, Drinks & Small-Group Fun

We got so lucky here because my wife and I were the only participants; therefore, received lots of extra attention. We were allowed to snorkle for 2 solid hours seeing sea turtles, sting rays nurse sharks and hundreds of different fish which our guides identified for us. Kareem & Franklin were so informative and courteous; even giving us a free ride on the inflatable platform back to shore!. The drinks were cold and coconut juice was warm drunk directly from the coconuts after Kareem cut them down for us. This was my favorite excursion that we did on our trip. Highly recommend these special fellas for a satisfying adventure.

This was by far, my daughter's favorite thing we did at the Bahamas. She is 13. She really loved it. The guides, Franklin and Kareem, are really cool, with interesting stories and very helpful.

We had the best time with Kareem and Franklin. They are very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. It is a quick 15 minute kayak ride to the platform to get snorkel gear on and also to return to when you need a break. If you don’t like to get in the water you can lean over the edge and see lots of fish without being completely submerged. We never felt rushed and enjoyed the punch and fresh coconut water upon return to the beach. Communication was great the entire time. Do not hesitate to book this tour.

By far our favorite part of our trip to Nassau. We enjoyed the kayaking, saw so many interesting and beautiful fish and other sea life, and had a fun time chatting with Franklin and Kareem who were great guides. Would highly recommend this experience!

Kareem and Franklin are super knowledgeable Bahamian natives. After picking us up from Baha Mar, we drove about 20 minutes to the northwest side, as the south side was windy that day. They are great at scoping out the best conditions based on the weather. Once we arrived at the beach, we kayaked about 10-15 minutes out to the reef and anchored with a floating raft alongside us. We snorkeled up and down the beautiful reef, seeing numerous fish, coral, and even a lobster made a brief appearance. Our guides allowed us to swim freely while still keeping watch on us, pointing out and diving down to show us beautiful sights. When we were finished snorkeling, we kayaked back to a small beach where local drinks and fresh coconut water were provided. We enjoyed listening to stories and the history of the island. If you are looking for a more private snorkel adventure (it was just the two of us!), this is the one.

Super mellow day. Out of all these excursions we went on, these guys were pros at their tour. They are lifers on the water, as opposed to many other excursions that are just there for the work, these guys enjoy being on the water. Nice little island trip with snorkeling around the island. Saw some fish, saw some turtles, had some good drinks and just chilled. Once these guys get into the fishing kayak game I’m all in. Not a very long tour, so if you’re trying to fill in four hours or so, definitely worth it.

We had an amazing experience. The kayaking was beautiful and our guides were very helpful. The kayaking was not too strenuous and worked for grandparents and grandkids. Snorkeling was gorgeous, we saw tons of fish and beautiful corral and our guides did a great job identifying fish and pointing out interesting areas to explore. Also, we had lovely drinks and snacks provided by the tour. I would recommend this trip highly.

Excellent, intimate kayaking/snorkeling experience. Was great to get away from the larger crowds. Guides were incredibly friendly. Generally should expect to exert some effort kayaking (it is open ocean and need to be able to get in and out of kayaks onto platform). Would recommend 10/10.

IslandLife Escape is a fantastic group that prioritizes its customer satisfaction. Our guides, Kareem and Franklin, scoped out diving spots ahead of time and strategically pre-staged the floating platform in order to optimize our experience while accounting for the wind and water conditions on the day of our excursion. They had equipment to fit all members of our group of 5, and made sure we all had fun and were comfortable while also staying safe. The chill time on the beach after our dive was just as enjoyable as the coral reef exploration, especially since it was a quiet and peaceful section of shoreline. And the fresh coconuts and cocktail/mocktail topped it all off. This is a hard-working local crew with so much to share! We will definitely contact IslandLife Escape the next time we are in the Bahamas!

We can't recommend this tour highly enough. Kareem, Franklyn and Tania all were fantastic. What it is: an interesting, educational and fun mini-tour of a quiet part of the islands with a little bit of hiking and a lot of kayaking, snorkeling, swimming and sunbathing. What it is not: loud, crowded, boisterous, overwhelming or "touristy." Kareem and Franklyn were excellent guides - professional, hard-working and knowledgeable but also fun, relaxed and chill. We felt well taken care of and at the same time it was like hanging out with a couple of cool buddies who just happen to know where the best little island is to party. We are a group of four women of moderate fitness, 2 in our 60s and 2 in our 20s. The guys modified our trip on the fly to suit our needs and the weather. It was clear they could do so to suit a variety of skills and abilities. Worthy of note: we saw tons of turtles, rays and, on the reef, colorful fish. The fresh coconut drink/snack was refreshing, the after-snorkel cocktail was fruity and delicious, and the guys get major props for delivering the shoes that one of our group left on the island directly to our hotel. 10 out of 20. Slay!
