Nagoya Grand Sumo Tournament Ticket & Guided Experience

Watch Japan’s unique and traditional sport Sumo with a knowledgeable tour guide. If you are in Japan in July, you should not miss it!(the tournaments take place 6 times a year; 3 times in Tokyo, once in Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka respectively. Each tournament lasts for 15 days. ) If you'd like to see sumo, it takes about two hours by Shinkansen from Tokyo, and about one hour by Shinkansen from Kyoto. Why not take this opportunity to visit Nagoya to watch sumo? Meet your English speaking guide and walk to the stadium. Your guide will talk you through what is Sumo, its history and rules before entering the stadium and give you additional tips in between the bouts. Feel the intense, serious atmosphere of the tournament while you are free to grab some beer, Yakitori(skewers), etc.. at the vendor inside the stadium and eat/drink at your seat. *Food and drinks are not included in this tour.

We will walk to the IG Arena and watch Sumo wrestling with English speaking guide.

- This is a group tour. We will leave on time, so please make sure to be there on time!
- No changes or refunds of any kind can be made less than 24 hours prior to the tour start time.
- Children 3 years old and under can enter for free, however they will not have their own seat and will need to sit on your lap. Children 4 years and up must have their own tickets.
- Large luggage cannot be brought into the seat.

Really enjoyed having a guide to explain the incredible history and rich tradition of sumo wrestling. Miki prepared helpful handouts and taught us about how was popular, where people were from, etc. She did a great job!
It was a bucket list event for me and it lived up to my expectations Admission Fee was a little bit expensive but overall it was still good value Our guide from Japan Wonder Travel ( red group ) was extremely good and her insights were awesome as she is obviously a fan of Sumo Great Day
Well paced for shopping, getting a snack and watching the main matches. Nobu provided excellent info prior to us getting to the arena.

A great day out . Only the most inexpensive seats were available when we signed up, but we had a great view of the matches.

We had such a fantastic at the Sumo Grand Tournament in Nagoya! Our guide, Joji, was a wonderful host and he really made this experience not only exciting but educational. He took the time to sit with us, explain the rules of Sumo and how the Tournament works. He also gave us lots of background info on the wrestlers, which helped us really appreciate the athletic styles and personalities of the Sumo wrestlers. We had excellent seats, and a perfect view of the action, and all the details of the day were handled on our behalf making this an stress-free and full enjoyable day! I’d highly recommend this excursion to anyone interested in experiencing an authentic part of Japanese culture!
