The Dahab National Park excursion was utterly brilliant, and I booked this in the Amwaj Hotel and Resort, with the help of Doaa on reception. She pointed me in the direction of the tour representative Sameh Nofal, who explained the tour in detail to me. I much prefer booking day trips face to face when I arrive at a destination. It's far more personal and avoids any confusion as to what is on offer with an excursion. On the Tuesday I was collected from the hotel at 8 am, and joined others in the minibus and set off on our day. There was a stopover on route, where we were advised to purchase a shemagh for the Quad Bike and Camel rides. We also stopped on route to hire our wetsuits and snorkelling kit for the reef diving offshore. Be advised, these costs are extra to the day trip, however the additional cost is only a few Egyptian Pounds. The shemagh was a great purchase as it came in handy in the desert, and when returning to the UK and our awful weather. The Quad Bike rides were great fun along the beach as were the camel rides, and I highly recommend you try them whilst on holiday. The snorkelling was overseen by the team who guided us all the way, and there was a element of security knowing that they were chaperoning us at all times. Lunch followed in a traditional beachside restaurant seated on the floor with cushions, and the food was excellent. After lunch, we headed out to the desert in jeeps for the walk through the canyon, and a memorable afternoon negotiating the unique and picturesque terrain. There was a short stopover in Dahab on the return journey, to a perfume factory, where oils and fragrances could be purchased. The tour include a photographer named Sherif, who took photos of all of the group throughout the day, and his humour really added to our trip. The photos were available for a small cost, and as promised, they were sent to me via email that night. I would highly recommend this day trip, and would like to take this opportunity to thank the team that took us out for this exceptional day as they were a great bunch. Their dedication to our enjoyment shone through. Would I go again? Most definitely, without hesitation. Best wishes A R Merrydew (Author)
