Itinerary
Dariya Daulat Palace, meaning "Wealth of the Sea," is a grand summer retreat built by Tipu Sultan in 1784, located in Srirangapatna, Karnataka, India. The palace is an excellent example of Indo-Islamic architecture, set amidst sprawling gardens. Constructed primarily of teak wood, it features intricately painted interiors with murals depicting Tipu Sultan’s military victories, court scenes, and moments from his life. The palace also houses a museum showcasing artifacts related to Tipu Sultan, his family, and his legacy. This historic site is a testament to Tipu Sultan's reign and resistance against British colonization.
Visit the site where the brave Tipu Sultan met his end in battle during the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War. Reflect on his legacy at this small but significant memorial.
Dive into the darker side of history as you visit this underground dungeon where British officers, including Colonel Bailey, were held captive by Tipu Sultan.
St. Philomena's Church is a majestic neo-Gothic cathedral located in Mysore, Karnataka, India. Built in 1936, it is one of the largest churches in India and is dedicated to Saint Philomena, a 3rd-century saint. The church's design is inspired by Germany's Cologne Cathedral, featuring tall twin spires, stained glass windows, and intricate architectural details. The main hall can accommodate around 800 people, and the beautiful altar holds a relic of Saint Philomena. A significant landmark of Mysore, this church symbolizes the city's rich cultural and religious diversity.
Mysore Palace, also known as Amba Vilas Palace, is a stunning royal residence located in Mysuru, Karnataka, India. Built in 1912, it is the official residence of the Wadiyar dynasty. The palace showcases an Indo-Saracenic architectural style, blending elements of Hindu, Muslim, Rajput, and Gothic designs. Its grandeur is highlighted by intricate carvings, domes, arches, and beautiful stained glass. The palace is especially famous for its dazzling illumination during the annual Mysuru Dasara festival, when it is lit with over 100,000 bulbs. As one of India's most visited monuments, it reflects the rich heritage and regal history of the Wadiyars.
The Mysore Sand Sculpture Museum is a unique and creative attraction located in Mysuru, Karnataka, India. Established by artist M.N. Gowri, it is India’s first sand sculpture museum, showcasing over 150 intricate sculptures made from over 115 truckloads of sand. The sculptures cover a wide range of themes, including religious figures, wildlife, historical icons, and scenes from mythology. One of the key highlights is the impressive 15-foot sculpture of Lord Ganesha. This museum offers a fascinating blend of art and creativity, providing visitors with a unique cultural experience in Mysore.

Good guide briefed everything in detail aspects
My tour guide’s name was Aakash and he has been one of the friendliest tour guides I have traveled with ever. He knows his way around and has left me with so many beautiful information. The tour itself was amazingly planned out and the lunch was great.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear that you had such a great experience with Aakash. He’ll be very happy to know his efforts made your tour memorable. We’re also glad you enjoyed the itinerary and the lunch. Hope to host you again soon!
First of all, the team at Samarpith Tours is excellent. I asked them if it made sense to leave for Mysore the evening before, and they suggested an option tailored exactly to my situation. I also asked about hiking up Chamundi Hills on foot - and we simply added it to the plan. That flexibility made a real difference. About the guide - Jai is great. Easy to talk to, attentive, and clearly thinking about the client. Since we managed to avoid traffic and reached the area earlier than expected, he coordinated with the driver and adjusted the order. As a result, we caught an amazing sunset at a temple by the reservoir - not something I planned, but a highlight of the day. The same approach applied throughout. We started the climb earlier, which created a time window, and instead of wasting it, we stopped by a cathedral in the city to avoid doing it later. Small decisions like that added up. Very flexible, well-paced, and efficient overall. Thanks for a great trip.
Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review! 😊 We’re really happy to hear that the flexible planning and customizations suited your travel style. From adjusting your departure to including the Chamundi Hills trek, it’s great to know these changes added value to your experience. Jai will truly appreciate your kind words. He always focuses on making the day smooth and meaningful, and we’re glad the small adjustments like catching that beautiful sunset and optimizing the itinerary became highlights for you. It was wonderful hosting you, and we hope to plan another great trip for you in the future! 🙏
It was a busy holiday visit, but the coordinator made the arrangements smoothly and the tour was carried out without waste. At the palace, the expert guides provided commentary on the historical, cultural and religious aspects of the visit, which made it more educational than visiting alone.
Thank you for your kind feedback! 😊 We’re glad to hear that despite the holiday crowd, everything was managed smoothly and efficiently. It’s great that you enjoyed the palace visit and found the guided explanations insightful. Your words mean a lot to us we hope to welcome you again soon! 🙏
As tours go this one was ok. The person that accompanied me and the driver was supposed to be a guide but tbh wasn’t very interested in explaining anything about the few places we visited and instead relied on a guide he hired at Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace and another one at Mysore Palace. Both of these were superb as places to visit and well worth the time although both were rushed. But I wouldn’t waste your time on Tipu Sultan’s death place (apart from a plaque there is literally nothing to see), nor the Sand Museum (which also hosts budgies crammed into a small cage!) Didn’t get to see the dungeons so cannot comment. Do not understand why a visit to Srirangapatna Temple wasn’t included instead as it’s so much more interesting than half of the itinerary on this trip.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed visiting Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace and Mysore Palace, which are truly wonderful places to experience. We’re sorry to hear that the guiding experience did not fully meet your expectations. Your comments about the explanations and pacing of the tour are very important to us, and we will certainly review this with our team to improve future tours. Regarding the stops at Tipu Sultan’s Death Place and Mysore Sand Sculpture Museum, they are included to provide a broader overview of the region’s history and culture. During weekends, Mysuru usually experiences heavy crowds. Guest satisfaction is always our first priority, and we carefully plan the itinerary to manage time and avoid delays. We could include Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, however it is a very popular temple and visiting it during weekends can take around 2–3 hours due to long queues. This may result in guests returning to Bengaluru quite late. That said, if guests have any special requests, we are always happy to try our best to accommodate them whenever possible. Thank you again for your valuable feedback. We truly appreciate it and will certainly consider your suggestions while improving our tours. We hope to welcome you again in the future.
Friendly, knowledgeable and honest guide and great driver. We appreciated our day full of amazing sites, having our questions answered and not being put in a position where we felt like we were being put in a position where we were feeling pushed to buy things which has happened with other companies. We enjoyed the day of learning and seeing some of the best sites in the area today. We won’t hesitate to use the company and guide again.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We’re really happy to hear that you enjoyed the day, the sites, and the experience with our guide and driver. It means a lot to us that you felt comfortable and not pressured during the tour. We truly appreciate your kind words and look forward to welcoming you again in the future.
I had the pleasure of touring Mysore with Ayannar today, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. His depth of knowledge was truly impressive — he provided rich historical context, fascinating details, and insights that brought every site to life. Beyond that, he was exceptionally friendly, patient, and accommodating throughout the day, making the entire experience feel smooth and enjoyable. His English is excellent, which made communication effortless and allowed for engaging, thoughtful conversations. What could have been a standard tour instead became a genuinely memorable experience.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt and detailed review! We’re truly delighted you had such a memorable experience in Mysore with Ayannar. He will be very happy to hear your kind words about his knowledge and hospitality. We greatly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again on another tour soon!
Booking was easy and the tour agenda was fantastic. Our tour guide, Ayanna, went above and beyond. Not only was his company a delight generally speaking, he was also full of a wealth of knowledge on history, geography, and culture. I learned way more than I thought possible in a day. Lunch was also delicious. This will be a top recommendation from me to other visitors. Thank you for an enriching experience!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted you found the booking easy and the tour enriching. Ayannar will be very happy to hear your kind words. Thank you for the recommendation, we truly appreciate it and hope to welcome you again soon!
Justine the guide and the driver arrived promptly at 07:30 to pick us up. We then made our way to Mysure. The journey was comfortable and took about 2.5hrs. We started with a tour of the Tipu Sultan summer palace which was very informative. We then visited the death place of Tipu Sultan, following this we went to Colonel Bailey’s Dungeon and then the St. Philomena's Cathedral. We then had a tour of Mysore Palace. The tour itself was fantastic. Of note the Palace was very very busy likely as we visited on a Sunday - because it was busy it was a bit difficult to take photos. We then stopped for a lovey lunch (South Indian Thali). Following a visit to the sand sculpture museum and the market we drove back to Bengaluru. Overall, a fantastic tour!
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the Mysuru tour, the visits, and the South Indian thali, and that you had a comfortable journey throughout the day. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we hope to welcome you again on another tour.

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! Delighted to hear you enjoyed the Mysore tour and Nagendra’s excellent guidance. We hope to welcome you again soon! 😊
