Great for the family! We spent a day in SD and chose the Museum of Illusions as our first stop. Our boys loved all the fun rooms and the brain lab where they worked on puzzles. The staff was great, offering to take photos and providing insight into the illusions. Overall a great experience.
It was super fun! I’m glad I found this place, Customers service was good as well. 10/10 experience 👍
We had a lovely time--I was with my brother, we are both San Diego natives and did not know the Museum was right close by. Our service was excellent. I wish there was a better way to do photos, I would go in a group of three. But they did let us go ahead and start a little early. All the exhibits were fun, the most challenging one was definitely the Vortex, which, if you walk through regularly, you are instantly seasick or at least think you're upside down. You aren't. If you shut your eyes its like walking on a perfectly flat surface.one of the other great ones was the big/small, and then the hanging from the side of the building. We had a blast, 10 out of 10, well worth it. The only thing in my opinion is more hand sanitizer, I get it that kids are germ magnets, but they don't seem to know and their parents aren't having them wash down and sanitize up. Maybe there should be someone ready to clean you up, or the illusion up? Just a thought. But it was really cool and I thoroughly scrubbed as much as possible. Also, it was the end of Spring Break so maybe parents were just exhausted. But would definitely go again, great day.
Highly recommend, it was so much fun! The whole museum was so interesting to see in person. Reading others' reviews are what made us want to go there. We had a blast!
We had the opportunity to visit the Museum of Illusions while visiting the Gaslamp District in San Diego. While the building is on the somewhat smaller side, it is packed with great illusions! Going during the week was fun because there weren't that many people in the building. We would like to give a huge shout out to Nathan (staff), who walked us thru and explained most of the illusions! His fun personality and knowledge made our experience amazing! He also helped with photos! Thank you, Nathan! This is a great place for families and school groups!
delightful; entertaining; staff helped with posing and photos; free locker was appreciated;
Way too crowded, they allow way too many people per time slot that you can barely move inside. Definitely not worth the money
My weekend day was in Temecula, California however, the drive to San Diego is only about an hour or less, and the location of the museum is in the heart of downtown San Diego. The location was easy to find, the employees were very helpful and professional. It was clean inside and easy to maneuver through each section to get amazing photographs. Truly had a wonderful time making memories with my friend. I would recommend this place to family and friends. It’s something new and different and intriguing. Thank you.
Do not use viator. Admission is $26. Viator charged 105.00 for 3 family members. The cashier at the museum apologized.
The museum isn’t very big but the staffs were all very helpful and friendly. They offered their advices how to take the best photos. We had a fun time.
