Murano Island Glassblowing Show - Made in Italy Art & Walk

Description
Depart from St. Mark’s Square aboard a semi-private water taxi and glide across the lagoon toward Murano, the island where Venice’s most treasured tradition still burns bright. The craft of the master glassmakers was so precious that they were forbidden from leaving the Republic, ensuring that the secrets of this extraordinary art remained uniquely Venetian. Today, you’ll step inside an authentic furnace and stand just a few feet away as molten glass becomes shape, color, and life in the hands of a Murano maestro. It’s a rare chance to witness a Made-in-Italy masterpiece take form right before your eyes. After the demonstration, enjoy a guided stroll through Murano’s charming canals, artisan studios, and island atmosphere. With its blend of history, artistry, and intimate experience, this tour offers not just a visit, but an unforgettable encounter with Venice’s most iconic craft before returning comfortably to St. Mark’s by water taxi.

Superb experience on the island of Murano and its pretty colorful houses, in addition to visiting the island and the glass wind tunnel, we had taken the option to discover local specialties (cichettis, white wine), it was very pleasant as a walk. Thanks, Carlota.

We liked the glassware in Murano but we were delighted by the discovery of Burano, a very charming and colorful island to discover absolutely.

We were driven by boat to the back of a glass making factory, 4 minutes looking at some blowing which was interesting then left in the showroom where items have no price, lots of obsequious sales people obviously waiting for someone with £10k to buy a chandelier. There was no walking tour, no tour guide and no return journey back to Venice - all of which are “included”. The tour operator help line was an AI called Marco Polo who was apologetically incapable of doing much but very “concerned” at our predicament. Thank you Marco. Eventually we rang the operator who advised us to return to the factory where we were unceremoniously, given we were clearly not the aforementioned chandelier buyer, returned by boat to the mainland. We are grateful it was sorted and it was nice to have a speedboat trip but this is a “not as described” product and it would have been nice to have a genuine visit of Murano’s fascinating history.
