Go through the city and listen to the narrated tour. From Union Square to the Wharf to the Bridge. On your way you will pass by The Palace of Fine Arts was built for Panama-Pacific International Exposition held in San Francisco in 1915 to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal, but it was widely seen in the city as an opportunity to showcase its recovery from the 1906 earthquake.
Drive through the oldest part of the city, the Presidio. See the new Presidio Highway, the Tunnel Top Gardens, and the Crissy Field, Air Force base during WWII.
Cross the most famous Bridge on Earth and enjoy stunning views of the Pacific, the Marin Headlands on your left, and the SF Bay on your right. It was opened in 1937 and is painted orange-red to be more visible in the fog. Make a short stop at the Vista Point on the Northern side and take pictures of the Bridge, the bay, Fort Baker, and downtown SF. Enjoy the natural beauty of Coastal Sequoias! Muir Woods National Monument is a National Monument named after naturalist John Muir. It is located on Mount Tamalpais near the Pacific coast in SW Marin County and is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, just 12 miles (19 km) north of SF. It protects 554 acres (224 ha) of which 240 acres (97 ha) are old growth coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) forests, the tallest living objects on Earth. Due to its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, the forest is regularly shrouded in a coastal marine layer fog. It remains cool and moist year-round with daytime temperatures averaging between 40 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit (4 to 21 °C). Millions of years ago ancestors of redwood and sequoia trees grew throughout North America. Today, the Sequoia sempervirens can be found only in a narrow, cool coastal belt from Monterey County, California, in the south to Oregon in the north.
Ride from Muir Woods to Sausalito. Listen to the history of Sausalito on your way to this beautiful town just north of the Golden Gate Bridge!
Visit Sausalito! Amazing views of the bay, downtown, and Bay Bridge! Always on the top of the most beautiful little cities in America! Strategically located on Pacific Coast HW, it was home to Ferries, running to Hyde Str. Pier in SF. During WWII it was home to a major Marinship shipyard where the Liberty ships were built. In the late 1960s, the houseboat communities occupied the waterfront along and adjacent to Sausalito's shore. If you want to spend more time there, you can take the Ferry back to the city, it costs about $15 extra. Great Seafood Restaurants! Art Galleries!

Friendly and very knowledgeable guide. Lots of historical info to and from Muir Woods. Beautiful hike through paved and boardwalk trails. Stop at Golden Gate Bridge.
What a great outing! Our tour guide Jerry was fun and informative. The tour was perfectly paced. Muir Woods was stunning and the stop in serene Saucalito was a perfect follow up after that experience. Loved it!
Jerry has an extensive knowledge of the history of the Bay Area and shares his expertise generously. He is friendly, kind, and quick to offer to take your group’s photo during a scenic stop! Highly recommend!
Micheal was a great host and I appreciated that I could be picked up at my hotel. The drive wasn’t too long and Micheal had lots of details about the local history. The Muir Woods was amazing but a bit colder than I anticipated so I ended up having to buy a sweatshirt up at the gift shop. Bring a good jacket. The redwoods were absolutely breathtaking. Saulsalito was a gorgeous little harbor town. We only had an hour in Saulsalito so if I had to do it again I would forgo the tourist shops and sit down at a nice restaurant instead. I highly recommend this half day tour and would definitely do it again.
Great trip, our tour guide, Michael was great. Very informative. Got us right into the park with no issues, gave us suggestions for trails. Also liked how it wasn’t a huge bus, it was a small tour so we didn’t really have to wait on a lot of people
Very nice tour. The information Michael gave very complete and interesting. If you wish to stay in Sausalito and took the afternoon tour make sure you take the last ferry to return because the last departures are early
Muir Woods and Sausalito are both fantastic destinations. Scheduling a tour reduces some of the logistics but you tour can be frustrating due to very slow driving speed and non-stop commentary from guide. Would have liked to have more effective transportation between stops allowing longer visit times. Next time I will rent a Turo.
Everything was great. Michael, our guide, was awesome. He was able to pick us up at our hotel right on time and had a lot of information about the San Francisco, Muir Woods, and Sausalito. He was also able to drop us off in Fisherman's Wharf so we could make our Alcatraz tour. Trip fee and time in Muir Woods and Sausalito is comparable to all of the other similar tours. Would book again.
Muir woods was an amazing experience. Michael was a wonderful tour guide. I just wish we could have spent more time at Muir Woods to explore.
This was an amazing trip. Muir Woods is always great. The host was very knowledgeable and provided lots of insight and had great stops along theway to show us other parts of San Francisco.
