The Peruvian Andes offer us endless possibilities, but only the Nevado Mateo offers us such a simple ascent and despite this it is more than 5,150 meters high and with a 360 view of the most beautiful mountains of the Cordillera Blanca , within the Huascarán National Park.

I left for the summit of the Matéo glacier with the agency Montrek. One of my best memories in Peru. The summit of a glacier at 5150 m. altitude, with an incredible view, especially of Huascaran, for an excursion easily achievable if you have a minimum of mountain habit: No more than 400 m. of D+, a first part in the rocks where we advance quietly, each at his own pace. Then a small part on the glacier, quite steep at first, but again, without much technical difficulty.
