Itinerary
We start at 23:00 in the evening, driving for 2 hours to the monastery and the mountain. We start climbing the mountain at 01:00 with our guide. We can enjoy looking at the stars while waiting for sunrise. Time to go up the mountain is 2 and half hours each way. Enjoy an amazing early sunrise over the monastery then go down the mountain
After sunrise, we go down the mountain to visit the monastery of St. Catherine which is considered one of the most famous monasteries in the world, and also it’s one of the oldest monasteries of Christianity. It’s located in heart of the Sinai Peninsula at a height of 1570 meters in the place where according to the tradition Moses saw the bush on fire which didn’t burn up. The Monastery is Orthodox and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The monastery dates back to the age of the emperor Justinian 6th century. It was the same time of building an enclosure wall surrounding the monastery right now but the monastery was named Saint Catherine at the beginning of the 11th century in honor of saint Catherine, one of the earliest Alexandria Christian martyrs. It contains several monuments like the burning bush seen by Moses and the remarkable Icons Gallery. Then return back to your hotel in Dahab.

Excellent organization.Everything was well planned. What an adventure! I climbed part of the mountain by camel and did the 740 steps by foot.Watching the sun rise on the mountain where Moses would have received the 10 commandements was the ultimate experience for me! My Bedouin guide made sure I got there safely and back.I definetly recommend.
Neither Viator nor Dahab Day Tours are travel agencies, they are brokers who outsource your contact information to the lowest bidder until a number of people on the ground have been paid and your tour is stripped bare of everything that is actually advertised on the website. This isn't a guided tour, and there is no breakfast. You're just paying a lot of money to get crammed into a microbus and get driven to the site. That's literally it. We had no tour guide all day. We were literally sold to another tour organiser on the side of the road and then just dumped at the entrance to St Cathrine and told to be back around 9am. One of the participants broke her foot on the way down from St Catherine and guess what happened? Because nobody from Dahab Tours or Viator or Beduin Tours (the people we were literally sold to) answered our phone calls or emails, we had to rely on the kindness of the police and of the local camel herders to carry her down to safety and organise an ambulance to the hospital. After hours at the hospital, we had to find a private driver and pay from our own pocket to get back from St Cathrine to Dahab because the 'tour' totally abandoned us. That's what you get when you deal with low grade hustlers and that's exactly what Dahab Tours and Viator are. Don't let the slick layout of this website fool you,, you're better off going on a trip with literally anyone else.
We are and Viator both official travel agencies. You were booked Moses mount sunrise tour with Viator direct and you paid to them and I paid the same price like all the people were with on the tour. We are Dahab safari tours arranged for you the tour. You had 10 PEOPLE IN THE BUS INCLUDED YOU and your group about 1 man from brazil with 2 women from brazil also 2 Egyptian men 1 woman from America together 2 people from Russia 1 woman from Austria. All of them were booked with Dahab safari tours direct. Except for 1 woman from Austria who was booked directly with her hotel ( El Rayga Camp Dahab ) And because the hotel is not allowed to arrange the tours they called us to take her with our tour We didn't transfer you to another company to arrange the tour. Our guide pick up all the people and he picks up you and he gives you the breakfast and water also Our guide name gameil he was guiding you for the tour the driver brings you to him to start to hike the mount with other people. We can also send you all contact for the rest of the customers who were with you on the tour too and NO one has a problem with the tour. Our guide calls us at 7:00 a.m and informs us about One of the participants broke her foot on the way down from St Catherine we have called the police and hospital.1 woman from Austria who was booked directly with her hotel ( El Rayga Camp Dahab ) We have made more than 25 calls to make sure with for everything and we send the car to her to bring her back to Dahab and we offer her to go to Dahab but the women decide to go to Sharm el sheik. we have called her hotel to inform them.
