Mount Blue Sky & Red Rocks Tour from Denver

Description
Your adventure begins at the world-famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre, considered the world’s most iconic outdoor music venue, carved from ancient sandstone and renowned for its acoustics and dramatic setting. Walk the amphitheater steps and take in sweeping views toward Denver. At the base of Mount Blue Sky, enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch at Echo Lake Park, where a glacially formed alpine lake reflects the surrounding peaks. Framed by ancient bristlecone pines—some over 1,700 years old—it’s a peaceful place to recharge and capture photos. Continue your ascent along one of the highest paved roads in North America, rising to 14,130 feet. Above treeline, the landscape opens into alpine tundra and granite outcrops where mountain goats and bighorn sheep are often seen. At the summit, enjoy sweeping views across the Rockies and the Continental Divide. If weather or road conditions limit access, we travel to the highest safely accessible point, stopping in historic Idaho Springs along the way.

Itinerary
For the past 35 years, this stunning 9000 seat theater has provided unparalleled views of the area's breathtaking scenery, the latter of which serves as an ideal backdrop for the Theater's stage. Unlike any other establishment of its type in the United States, the Red Rocks Amphitheater is truly a sight to behold.
Evergreen’s historic Main Street, bordered between a pink cliff wall of boulders and the rapidly flowing mountain waters of Bear Creek is compact, but full of irresistible fine arts, crafts and gifts worthy of any home, as well as bistros, coffee shops, boutiques, specialty shopping, and live music.
Drive by the 55 acre Evergreen Lake Park, the recreational jewel of Evergreen. Home to the Evergreen Lakehouse, this is the perfect spot for q quick escape into nature.
We will have a picnic lunch at Echo Lake. It is a shallow, oligotrophic lake situated at 10,600 ft (3,230 m) above sea level near Mount Blue Sky in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. It formed during the latest period of glaciation roughly 10,000 years ago. As glaciers retreated in the Chicago Creek valley, lateral moraines formed a natural dam to drainage, forming the lake.
Be ready for some of the most incredible views, the Mount Blue Sky Scenic Byway (formerly Mount Evans) is 28 miles (45 km) in length and gains over 7,000 feet (2,100 m) of elevation then hike the rest of the way and you’ve climbed a 14er! Chance to see bighorn sheep, mountain goats, and marmots in their natural habitat. Enjoy incredible views, in a comfortable ride.
Founded 162 years ago in 1859 by prospectors during the early days of the Pike's Peak Gold Rush, the town was at the center of the region's mining district throughout the late nineteenth century.

The tour was very interesting and the tour guide (Alexis) was not only well informed about eah site visited on the tour. She was also very knowledgeable about the geology, history, and culture of both the City of Denver znd the State of Colorado. It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to interact with such a knowledgeable young person who is also equally passionate about providing a worthwhile experience to her tour participants
The views were unbelievable, great guide and then some wildlife sprinkled in - such a great day! The drive itself is spectacular and then the views from the top - unbelievable
We loved the tour. Beautiful views, comfortable van, tasty lunch, and very knowledgeable tour guide. We saw mountain goats as well. What else can you ask for.
I couldn't ask for a better tour. I booked the Mount Evans tour from Denver downtown and didn't know what to expect, but had fun on an adventure that I'll never forget. The guide was incredibly friendly and welcoming and took the time to answer questions as we spent time together in the natural environments. I even walked away with a few new friends that I met during the day.
Mt Evans and Red Rocks tour is a great way to learn more about the history of the Red Rocks and enjoy the views of Mt Evans. Although I'm a native of this area, I wasn't knowledgeable about some of the most popular landmarks in Colorado. Our tour group was small enough to feel intimate and made it easy to interact with our guide.
Our group booked the Mt Evans tour to celebrate a friend's birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the experience from beginning to end. The staff was extremely detailed and planned an incredible picnic for our group where we got to take in the beauty of the mountains in the distance. The scenery was picturesque, and the tour allowed us to explore at our own pace.
Great service all the way to my hotel. Driver/guide Roman was kind, humorous, and professional. He took great care to offer me options because of the limits imposed by my age. I would consider this tour preferable to driving oneself.

Michelle was a informed & friendly guide. Beautiful day for the Red Rocks & Mt. Evans tour. Highly recommend.

Everything was excellent. Especially the lunch accommodations that catered to my wife's difficult vegan diet. Jim was an awesome guide who gave it his very best to fulfill the tours agenda, even when the rain/snow almost made it impossible to receive the full experience. A must for any tourist seeking a great laugh and experience.
