Take in the panoramic views of the mountain scenery as you ride our air-conditioned bus and discover the history of its medieval monastery by the hand of our passionate guides. Then, enjoy free time to explore on your own. You'll continue towards a beautiful boutique winery, and you are in for a treat! The cellar also happens to be a 10th century castle owned by the same family for 36 generations with magnificent views of the mountain you just visited. Discover their revival of ancient local grape varieties, which provide a unique glimpse into the region’s rich heritage. Savour traditional flavors with a light tapas brunch or enjoy a multi-course traditional lunch at the winery (depending on the option selected). After that, learn about the wine-making process, and enjoy a wine-tasting session before traveling back to Barcelona.
Upon arrival, your guided tour consists of an extended visit throughout the Basilica and Monastery, with free time to explore the site on your own afterwards. There are many activities to choose from – you may want to see the Black Madonna, visit the Museum, make your way to the Holy Cave, ride a funicular to the top of the mountain, or shop at the farmer’s market. At the end of the visit you'll have the chance to attend a performance by l’Escolania de Montserrat, the oldest Boys’ Choir in Europe.

After Montserrat, head to the estate winery of Oller del Mas. Located in a castle dating back to the 10th century, the winery is home to 1,500 acres of land and a public golf course. Make your way into the restaurant, where you will be served a multi-course meal with wine. Following your meal, take a stroll through the vineyards and visit the cellar for a guided tour of the estate's wines. Learn about the production process and other winemaking secrets. Before heading back to Barcelona, enjoy a wine tasting session with three ecological wines. You will be returned at the end of the day to your original departure point. * Please note that l'Escolania does not sing on Saturdays, school holidays, and several dates throughout the year.

- Tours start at 8:30 a.m. Please arrive 20 minutes before the start time because check-in is required at our office before proceeding to the buses area.
- Groups are limited to 20 people per guide, though in rare cases may increase to 22. Transportation is shared with other groups.
- The tour is conducted in English.
- Comfortable clothes and walking shoes are recommended. Montserrat and the winery may have more extreme temperatures than Barcelona—check the forecast and dress accordingly. Bring water, especially in summer.
- The tour is not wheelchair accessible, but service animals are allowed. For reduced mobility, contact us before booking to discuss arrangements.
- Infants (3 years or younger) join free of charge but are not provided with car seats or meals.
- Dietary restrictions or allergies are accommodated without advance notice.
- We often work with boutique, family-owned wineries. Due to logistics, the winery may vary from Oller del Mas.
- Tour timings are approximate and may vary due to traffic, weather, or unforeseen events. We recommend avoiding scheduling other activities immediately after the tour to allow for potential delays.

Xavi was a great tour guide, silly, funny, charismatic and attentive. I booked knowing I would not be drinking the wine due to my alcohol intolerance, yet he was able to get me soda and non alcoholic wine to try. It's sad that this will be his last summer with the Castlexperience tours, and I wish him luck finishing his masters and going on to work curating museums. Montserrat is beautiful and Oller del Mas was a great experience to learn about wine and history even for someone who doesn't drink.
I could not recommend this tour more! Our guide Judit was exceptional. She knew so much about the history of Barcelona and Monserrat and was a joy to be around. I would also recommend Tais as a guide. She was the guide for a different group travelling with us and was so energetic and knowledgeable as well. There were lots of local vendors selling cheese and honey at Montserrat as well. I’d recommend paying for the black Madonna visit.
Had a wonderful experience visiting Montserrat, followed by the winery tour. A huge shoutout to our amazing guide Marianna, who had the entire experience fun and exciting. There is so much history and culture hidden within the mountains, and we were all super happy to learn about it all. A 10/10 experience!

A good tour for a first visit to Montserrat. We did the full tour (without the vineyard visit) The guides are with you on the bus and take you to the basilica. From there to have about 90 minutes to do as you wish, before heading back to Barcelona. This is likely enough for most visitors, though some who want to visit the museum or do more hiking may need more time. The guides talk for about half of the bus ride. (Xavier was great and very entertaining) Since there are three guides on the bus (thanks Ivan for guiding us) I would prefer if they used all the time to educate us about Montserrat and Catalonia. Advice. Bring water (can refill there with fresh spring water), and don’t waste your time in line for food (bring snacks).

The service was excellent, the bus was luxury and very clean and comfortable. The tour guides are very nice and knowledgeable. My guide was Marcel, and he was funny and attentive and had lots of history of the place. It was well worth the price and I'm so glad I decided to join

This trip was absolutely amazing. Our guide Hector did a brilliant job and was incredibly knowledgeable both about Montserrat and the wine tasting. The trip was a great balance of guided tour and free time to explore. From what I could see all of the guides worked well as a team and I don't know where they got their energy!

Lorena was a knowledgeable guide. The views were impressive, the church spectacular. The architecture and design are impressive. I am not a religious person, but being inside the church is so calming and allowed for contemplation. I wish there had been more time to explore. When I booked the tour, I thought 1.5 hours was enough time but it was not. My son hiked to the crosses and only had enough time to eat because I purchased food for him. I would have loved to have spent more time in the church just reflecting. And I would have loved to go to the art museum but I didn’t want to rush my time in there. I would definitely recommend the tour though.
